Promising start to series
This is mainly background and getting familiar with main character, not a steamy encounter in sight! I wished the narrator had been Scottish it would have been more authentic. All in all I enjoyed this short introduction it was just getting to the good part and I was left wanting more.

Vikings
I enjoyed this book very much. I will definitely get the next book as i wanted this one to go on and on. It was brave of the widow to approach the Vikings on the beach, and then propose what she did to the visitors. The next book will be awesome.when it continues with wedding’s and new lives. Thank you very much Miss Barker. Keep writing. Xxx

Viking Surrender Series
This prologue is a short novella that takes the listener immediately into the action and sets up an intriguing Viking series.
Eithne is a Pictish woman who goes to bargain with the Vikings when they arrive at her village. Brandr is the Jarl who agrees to consider Eithne's unorthodox proposal. Many other characters are introduced within the prologue as we get our first taste of the Viking Surrender series.
This is an absorbing short, that provides an entertaining introduction to the stories in the series to come.
The narration from Emma Parry was excellent, and worked really well in evoking the drama in this Viking world.

Brilliant!
Wow! This was so good. The prorogue is brilliantly composed, it cleverly sets the basis of the premise for the series. Ashe Barker captured the period flawlessly, captivating her readers/listeners from the get-go. There is no doubt in my mind that I'll be continuing with the series. Emma Parry's narration was excellent, she breathed life into the characters. Overall, the Vikings is a fabulous novella, one highly recommend.

why so short?
Good, but way too short. Sadly that is still way better than other stories I have been listening to this week.

Terrific Story & Narration🎧Fascinating & Thrilling
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, it is the prologue that lays the foundation for the the books that follow in the “Viking Surrender” Series. The story is set in the year 912 AD a time when Vikings sailed to different villages, raiding them and stealing their riches and anything else they wanted. This story takes place in Achnaryrie Village, Gaillaibh, the land of the Picts, Scotland a village that once flourished but due to illness and injury most of the men died out leaving the village weak and vulnerable. The villagers fear the Vikings and when they see three Dragon ships approach their shores most go into hiding. Eithne, she comes up with a plan, decides to approach them and make a deal with them. Her sister accompanies her but is not happy about it. Eithne strikes a conversation with who appears to be the leader, Bradr Gunnarson, Jarl of Skialanes. He hears her pleas and offer and agrees to follow her back to the village to check it out and see if it is something he wants. When they come up with an agreement the village woman will each get a Viking for a husband. I loved this premise, the next books in the series will be about each couple. I am looking forward to the next book, Brandr and Eithne story, two strong and brave characters. Thank you for this terrific story, I am loving the original and interesting storylines and characters.
Emma Parry is a talented narrator and voice artist. She does an amazing job portraying the characters, bringing them to life, giving each their own voice and personalty. She sets the perfect tone for the story and delivers the dialogue naturally and with ease. She is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for this terrific listen🎧

Loved it.
This is a quick listen, but it’s quality not quantity that counts. Very much enjoyed listening and have gone on to the next one.

Waste of a credit
What a waste of a credit. This prologue book should have been included into Brandr's story, which is the next book in the series. It's ridiculously short and a waste of time. Definitely not worth a credit. The narrator could have been good if her voice for Brandr wasn't read like a robot.
