Like hot tea for the soul. It was a beautiful book. Each of the characters were perfectly crafted and were all so human. I feel like their lives gently unravelled in front of me whilst listening. It’s powerful without being preachy. A beautiful book to end my year on, there are definitely lessons I’m taking from it.
The reader was great too, captured the tone very well I thought.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It exudes comfort, tranquility, and warmth. The narratives and characters beautifully convey the message that personal happiness and life fulfillment are not bound by societal norms. As another reviewer said; I really wanted to like this. I made it 2/3 of the way through, but nothing was happening! Just as I started being interested in a character or storyline, it went into an overthinking and introspection mode, which left me thinking, no wonder you’re sad!
I found myself getting irritated by them all, but particularly the main character. I know the book is supposed to be enlightening and inspirational, and maybe I’m missing something, but it just left me feeling like I would NEVER want to go to that bookshop!
