Summary
The adventure of a lifetime for two indomitable socialite sisters
In the city of Chicago in 1892, the rules for Victorian women are strict, their roles limited. But sisters Rebecca and Flora Hawes are not typical Victorian ladies. Their love of adventure and their desire to use their God-given talents has brought them to the Sinai Desert - and into a sandstorm.
Accompanied by Soren Petersen, their somber young butler, and Kate Rafferty, a street urchin who is learning to be their ladies' maid, the two women are on a quest to find an important biblical manuscript. As the journey becomes more dangerous and uncertain, the four travelers sift through memories of their past, recalling the events that shaped them and the circumstances that brought them to this time and place.

How much the sisters wanted to love like God and Jesus
I loved it. The performance was so good too. Her tone of voice is beautiful and melodic. Even when she’s changing it a bit for a male’s character.

Another Gem From Lynn Austen
Lynn Austen is fast becoming a favourite author. Gorgeous dual timeline novel beginning in 1890 of two sisters and the love they show for others. They love to travel and source ancient documents relating to the Bible. We join with them through trials and tribulations in the Sinai desert and the lives they touch back home in Chicago.
Highly recommended for lovers of Christian fiction.

Absolutely loved this book
Having read multiple Lynn Austin books, each time I select another one to read, I’m a bit guilty of thinking, “I bet I don’t enjoy it as much as I did the last one.” I’m usually wrong! I certainly was this time too! I absolutely loved this story. The main characters, sisters, Rebecca and Flora....well, I wish I was the third sister! Lovely, kind, considerate young ladies who are also adventurous and don’t like to be boxed into a stereotypical role. Also, I have to say, the narration was perfect, the BEST I’ve ever heard and I don’t say this lightly. I wish I could see this as a series or film.
