Superb narration
I have read this book before but Christina Moore’s narration brought the characters to life in such a wonderful way. As always, Lynn Austin’s books are a joy to both listen to and read.

Hearing about a different view of the war.
What woman went through in those times, that propelled woman to start having more say. How sad that the segregation and discrimination was so strong back then. Loved the story and characters.

Brilliant war time book
This is my first Lynn Austin book and I’ve already downloaded a few others. The book expertly weaves through the lives of the main characters, teaching us along the way the history of the era, the hard fought battles (not always on a literal war theatre) and how important it is to love.
The characters are realistic, life like ordinary people with the struggles, hopes, dreams and heartache of war.
Highly recommend this book.

A fascinating social history story
I really enjoyed this book and found the social history elements of it fascinating. It was full of warmth without being overly sentimental. I definitely recommend it.

Fab story, fab narrator!
This was a great book, and the narrator was the best I’ve heard. The story was very interesting and held my attention all the way through to the end. Just loved it, and ready for her next book.

Very enjoyable
Wonderful story of women’s changing roles and resistance to change. Also the cruelty of racism. Was really insightful story with a good storyline.
