Summary
For more than 300 years, Bluff House has sat above Whiskey Beach, guarding its shore - and its secrets. But to Eli Landon, it’s home.…
A Boston lawyer, Eli has weathered an intense year of public scrutiny and police investigations after being accused of - but never arrested for - the murder of his soon-to-be-ex wife.
He finds sanctuary at Bluff House, even though his beloved grandmother is in Boston recuperating from a nasty fall. Abra Walsh is always there, though. Whiskey Beach’s resident housekeeper, yoga instructor, jewelry maker, and massage therapist, Abra is a woman of many talents - including helping Eli take control of his life and clear his name. But as they become entangled in each other, they find themselves caught in a net that stretches back for centuries - one that has ensnared a man intent on reaping the rewards of destroying Eli Landon once and for all.…

Easy listening
It took a long time to get to the point. However the characters were interesting. Sounds like a great place to live

Great story - dreadful narration
I loved this story but the narration sounded like a voice over for the Flintstones. It almost stopped me listening but the main characters voices calmed down after a couple of chapters. Sadly all other characters continued with the cartoon like quality.

Great Listen
Another great audiobook from Nora Roberts. She’s become one of my favourite authors! The narrator wasn’t so great at doing voices for the female characters, but it didn’t put me off.
Really enjoyed the story. I did figure out part of what was going to happen/be revealed, but I loved listening to see if I was right or not. I listened whenever I could and was a bit gutted when I got through it so quickly. Will definitely go back and listen again. Now for the next one!

Unsuitable narrator unfortunately
What did you like best about Whiskey Beach? What did you like least?
Nora Roberts writes great books so a no star review will not affect her in the least, but the narrator was unsuitable for this story as his 'female' voice sounded ridiculous. Why did he have to resort to a simpering man to get the heroine's dialogue across!?
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
DNF
Would you be willing to try another one of Luke Daniels’s performances?
No
If this book were a film would you go see it?
Yes, probably.
Any additional comments?
Will be more careful when ordering audio books!

Another Triumph
As always, I tried to work out who had "done it", and as usual remained wrong until the final couple of chapters.
Any Nora Roberts fans will enjoy this hugely.

TYPICAL NORA ROBERT
This story is a typical Nora Roberts. It is filled with wonderful characters, humor, romance, plots with lots of unexpected twists and turns, a book that keeps you want to know more. Being a Nora Roberts fan I enjoyed the book.

Was addicted from the beginning
I am a big Nora Roberts fan, I have read most of her books and recently due to work commitments have started to listen to them via Audible. I was most fascinated that in this instance the story was written with a Male lead which shakes things up. I don't want to give too much away but it was a great listen with lots of little twists and turns. Can't wait from the next one.

Nora Roberts at her best, narration exceptional!
Classic Roberts. a story line of strong characters and especially strong and diverse women of different generations. Luke Daniels manages different 'voices' with consummate skill and no jarring notes. Highly recommend!
