Summary

If only you knew then what you know now....

Imagine if you could go back 10 years and meet your younger self - would you recognise her? And what advice would you give? Wear sunscreen? Back away from those PVC trousers? Don’t give that idiot your phone number? Lemon juice won't bleach your hair - it just attracts wasps.... He's the one - don't let him go! For Charlotte Merryweather, there's no need to imagine. She's about to find out for real. With surprising consequences....

Alexandra Potter's deliciously funny and enchanting romantic comedy looks at life, love, and what might happen if you could turn back time.

Wanted to enjoy it more than I did

I really enjoy the quirkiness, pace and great story telling of Alexandra Potter books and anticipated that this would be the same as her other great reads - but sadly it wasn't.
The story lacked the excitement of some of her other work and took ages to hit an interesting story line ; although this could have been overlooked if the narration hadn't been so awful.
Instead of a a 31year old chic PR Exec , the narrator made Charlotte Merryweather sound like a middle aged bore - not at all the smart, interesting, funny but flawed heroines of AP’s other work. The accents of some of the other characters was just truly cheesy .
As a book to read its probably not bad at all,- but as an audiobook with that narration its just dull and lacking the author’s usual sparkle.

Needs a willing suspension of disbelief

This story is quite far fetched but it is fun a a good listen. The narrator has some peculiar voices, but is mainly ok. I enjoyed it.

Easy listening

A little bit predictable & I found the narrative a little disjointed - however it was fairly easy late night listening & it did make me reminisce & remember where I was & what I was doing 10 years ago!

The ending is awesome

I loved this book, it was touching and funny. More importantly to remember to follow your dreams.

chick-lit with a twist

very light-hearted read this is simple chick-lit. Good narrator who really bought the story to life.

however, the time travel is almost secondly to the story in parts and doesn't push any boundaries in terms of major changes, or changing past regrets in Charlotte's past (for instance: think - going back in time to change your fashion sense, not change your life).

Good book. Terrible narrator

I love this book. It’s feel good & easy to read but I don’t recommend the audible version at all! It was like listening to a pantomime. The narrator forgot what ridiculous accent she was doing for each character so it became confusing. The accents were embarrassing to listen too. Just awful!! I wish I’d of read this instead of listened to it.
