About this listen
A missing actress. A bored writer. A matter of life and death when their stories collide....
Actress Wendy Knight thought her life was finally turning around. But when her ex came back into the picture, he wanted to take all of that away from her and more...and then she disappeared.
Scriptwriter Angie Bearing longs to write something deeper than daytime soaps. When the plot for a new thriller comes to her, she doesn't question it. At least until she discovers an uncanny resemblance between her story and the unsolved disappearance of an actress named Wendy. Angie begins to investigate. As she retraces Wendy's footsteps, she doesn't realize that someone is watching her. Someone who would do anything to keep the awful truth buried for good....
Witness for Wendy is the captivating first book in the Bearing Witness series, a collection of exciting thrillers. If you like surprising twists, edge-of-your-seat suspense, and a touch of the unusual, then you'll love MK Turner's fast-paced mystery.

Brilliant super natural mystery compelling book
I so enjoyed this book dipping in and out of supernatural perception it was hard to work out which character was the nasty one but enjoyable getting to that point, I hope there are going to be more books brilliant narration

A great read/listen
Very different to any other Marcia Turner book you may have read. if you've ever thought about psychics/mediums (or even if you haven't), you will enjoy this novel. It builds up to a very exciting ending and leaves you wanting more!

A great start
I enjoyed listening to Nikki Loy , did a great job of narrating. This is a great first book to a series. This book has drama , supernatural elements and suspense. It is written in the third person . I was gripped from the start.

Unusual mystery tale
This was slightly out of my comfort zone due to the Paranormal theme but it was done in such a way as it wasn't the usual cheesy clairvoyant running the show, Angie receiving the story from Wendy when she sat down to write at her computer. I liked how Angie and Wendy were linked by the TV show and their home too.
I loved the way the individual characters were portrayed by the narrator, she did a great job of making them seem real, though some of the male voices sounded very similar (maybe this was part of the subterfuge, as I suspected several of them being "Him")
This was a well written mystery, kept me guessing right up to near the end with the slow drip of revelations and the different timelines (Wendy/Angie) adding just a bit more each time to the story.
Will definitely continue reading the series, and also will look into any other work of the narrator too.

Unusual but interesting story
I was quite apprehensive at the start and almost didn’t persevere but once I realised what was going on I really enjoyed it. It is nicely read too

Brilliant Story.
I stumbled a bit at the start of this book and went back and re listened to a couple of chapters before I got the idea of what was happening but once it sank in... Wow! The story is fast paced and plenty of action going on throughout, real edge of the seat stuff with a brilliant climax. I never saw the ending coming at all. Nikki Loy's narration is superb and the production is first class. A highly recommended listen for all thriller fans.
I was kindly given a copy of the book by the author and leave this honest review.

Exciting start to a series
As a huge fan of the Meredith & Hodge audiobooks I was keen to have a listen to this series rather than reading it so I was thrilled when the audiobook version was released.
Well, first of all, it's nothing like Meredith & Hodge, something the author makes very clear from the start. But then, perhaps the world couldn't cope with another John Meredith, haha. The dual timeline in this book is very well executed and easy to follow, unlike some I've read. The characters are nicely fleshed out and either easy to like or easy to loathe, depending which is intended of course.
I'm especially glad that the story is written in the third person which helps it flow and doesn't bloat the pages with the character's innermost thoughts, fears and turmoils. Yes, these emotions are all there and well described but often when told in first person narrative I feel they can sound whiny, self-indulgent and less likeable. For me it's easier to follow the story from outside where the reader/listener can see things the main character can't.
The narrator does a superb job of telling the story and giving life to the characters and is a pleasure to listen to.
The story kept me enthralled from the start and I can't wait to listen to the next in the Bearing Witness series.
I received a free copy of this audiobook from the author and am voluntarily writing an honest and unbiased review.

Don't read the blurb, just listen and enjoy
I had no idea what to expect as I rarely read the blurb if I know and like the author. M K Turner is a brilliant author who creates well rounded and believable characters. This book was so enjoyable as I had no idea what was going to happen or how the two women were linked. I loved this book and highly recommend it. Nikki Loy did a great job as narrator too.
