I liked the detail reporting , and the very interesting insights into the phsyc of the Ripper, and it was extremely interesting how useless the Police where in there attempts to find the Ripper.

Grim Listening
This book is a shocking (and I mean shocking) catalogue of Sutcliffe's crimes, and the negligence of some of the investigators.

30 or 40 murders?
Mind boggling police incompetence. Quite simply breathtaking. Nothing less than a tour de force of investigation by the author

Excellent coverage of all of the victims
This is a truly excellent book, detailing all of the ‘unknown’ victims of the vile killer.
It is handled with sensitivity and great insight, and truly provides more to think about, even for those well versed in these cases. The research done is fantastic and thorough and I can’t recommend this highly enough.

Engrossed throughout
Of all the true crime books that I have ever read or listened to, this is by far the most in-depth researched. There is background and named studies on subjects as they are introduced, almost like an educational textbook would have, but to counter that, it's thoroughly entertaining too.
I've just finished my third listening of this book. Not only is the content amazing, so is the narration.
A well deserved five stars!

This book uncovers the unfounded secrecy of the police in protecting the rights of a serial killer.
whilst listening to the story of how the Yorkshire ripper was caught and brought to trial, it makes me think that the police cannot be made responsible for any incompetence that they showed quite clearly they showed in investigating this case. Disgraceful!!
