About this listen

Published for the 30th anniversary of the arrest of Peter Sutcliffe, aka The Yorkshire Ripper.

The Yorkshire Ripper's reign of terror is well known, but many remain unaware of the full truth behind the brutal attacks that shocked the nation many years ago. Countless crucial details of murder, manipulation and miscarriages of justice have been hidden from the public, and the true extent of the Ripper's crimes still remains hidden to this day. This book exposes the twist in the tale of the most notorious British serial killer of the last hundred years.

I liked the detail reporting , and the very interesting insights into the phsyc of the Ripper, and it was extremely interesting how useless the Police where in there attempts to find the Ripper.

incompetent Police force

This book is a shocking (and I mean shocking) catalogue of Sutcliffe's crimes, and the negligence of some of the investigators.

Grim Listening

Mind boggling police incompetence. Quite simply breathtaking. Nothing less than a tour de force of investigation by the author

30 or 40 murders?

whilst listening to the story of how the Yorkshire ripper was caught and brought to trial, it makes me think that the police cannot be made responsible for any incompetence that they showed quite clearly they showed in investigating this case. Disgraceful!!

This book uncovers the unfounded secrecy of the police in protecting the rights of a serial killer.

I knew nothing about the Yorkshire ripper before listening to this audio book but by the end had a great overview of what happened and the incredibly bad policing involved. really well narrated and easy to follow.

I was in my late teens living in Essex at the height of the reign of this monster. I remember vividly the fear in the country at the time and had friends at Leeds Uni. I’ve seen numerous documentaries on him but this book has given an amazingly in-depth look at all the events and many other possible crimes he may well have committed. What a absolutely vile man he truly is.
Well researched and written. Excellent narration. Well worth listening to even though it’s horrific.

Incredible book!

A consise and riveting retrospective of a terrible series of crimes and the complete lack of police and political integrity.
Kept me interested and at times angered me. Well worth a listen.
