  • 038 - Normalize It: Upending the Silence, Stigma and Shame that Shape Women's Lives with Dr. Jessica Zucker
    Apr 23 2025

This week, we’re joined by the amazing Dr. Jessica Zucker—clinical psychologist, advocate, and award-winning author, for an honest, unfiltered conversation about the silence, stigma, and shame that continue to shape women’s lives.
In honor of her upcoming book Normalize It: Upending the Silence, Stigma, and Shame That Shape Women’s Lives (out 4/22), we dig deep into the way silence becomes shame, especially around things like miscarriage, body image, menstruation, and menopause.
Dr. Zucker shares her personal experiences, including her miscarriage and breast cancer diagnosis and how they’ve informed her work and advocacy. We also talk about how to introduce our daughters to menstruation in a way that is empowering instead of embarrassing, and why normalizing our bodies is a radical act.
This one is layered, vulnerable, and full of wisdom.

  • 037 - Dr. Tamisha J. Ponder on holding space while healing. A conversation on community care postpartum.
    Apr 16 2025

Rounding out Black Maternal Health Week, this week’s episode features the amazing and deeply wise Dr. Tamisha Ponder, doula, yoga therapist, and Founder and CEO of Sankofa Yoga and Wellness Center.
Tamisha invites us into both her professional world as a birth worker and her personal story as a mother. Her journey is full of intention, healing, and powerful reminders about what it means to be held during pregnancy, birth, and beyond—especially as a Black woman in a system that too often overlooks us.
One moment in our conversation stopped us in our tracks: she shared a simple tip that helped her reclaim her peace in the thick of postpartum, and It’s life changing. It shifts how you move through your day, and how you care for yourself while caring for others.
Whether you’re in the postpartum season or simply trying to show up fully in your own life, this episode will leave you feeling more grounded, more seen, and more empowered to slow down and tune in. This is one you’ll want to come back to again and again.
