When Andrew Tucker discovered an unusual archaeological artifact from his great uncle’s belongings in an attic storeroom, its ability to control time sets off a series of improbable events that challenge all of his education and knowledge. These events are impossibly linked to actions four thousand years in the past, and change both his life and the time manipulation power of this unusual artifact. Andrew eventually asks for help from some quantum scientists known for their unusual problem solving.

In 1908 on the island of Crete, Italian archaeologist Luigi Pernier and his team discover a small clay disc while excavating the almost four thousand year old ruins of the Phaestos Palace, an administrative centre for the Minoan Civilization. The spiral message of 242 figures stamped on both sides of the disc has remained undecipherable for over 100 years by the world's top archaeologists and cryptologists.

In the first two volumes of the 'Quantum Series', a group of earth-based quantum and astro-physicists working on quantum entanglement, manage to accidentally communicate with an exoplanet about forty lightyears away. During an international environmental conference in Los Angeles, 43 people die horribly and mysteriously on a local freeway by what initially appears to be a poison-gas attack. A couple of students accidentally get their science fair project mixed up with an experiment in "quantum entanglement". A mysterious message is received via this "impossible" phenomenon.

We saw in the first of the Quantum series that a teenager at a science fair gets mixed up with a parent’s "quantum entanglement" experiment, a phenomenon that Einstein said was impossible. This quirk of the quantum world, through a little help from these Earth scientists, results in a communication link with similar scientist on a recently discovered exoplanet.

When a friend and colleague of Jake Prescott dies mysteriously during a morning run in Stanley Park, Vancouver Police involve Jake in the case. Jake discovers that his archenemy, Kurt Landau is behind not only his friend's death, but the death of many others. Before long, Jake is once again involved in an international chase to find out who is killing off the scientists who bear the bad news about global warming. While in Europe at his friend's funeral, Jake meets Sabrina, a beautiful woman who has a few surprises up her sleeve.
