About this listen
I’ve been quiet long enough.
I’m nothing like my brothers. I’ve devoted my life to my work, and I don’t care about God or family.
I live alone, and I like it that way. Soon, I’ll have the job of my dreams far away from this place, and that’s all that matters. Everything is going perfectly.
That is until Sadie Green walks into my class.
She is brilliant and funny and infuriating, and she’s ruining everything I have planned for my life.
When she gets the news that she’s pregnant, and the baby’s father isn't going to help her, I step in. She needs guidance, control, and discipline.
Moving her into my house is a risk. If I’m caught living with my pregnant student, I will lose my job and everything I have planned.
But the first time she asks me to punish her, I know it won’t be so easy to walk away—because I love it.
Being with her would risk everything, but God help me, I can’t seem to stop.
Before long, I don’t recognize the good teacher I used to be.

A Captivating Forbidden Romance
Narrated by CJ Bloom and Jason Clarke, this story delivers an intense and captivating story of forbidden love between Professor Lucas Goode and his student, Sadie Green. Both narrators bring the characters to life with a perfect blend of tension and emotion. CJ captures Sadie's strength and vulnerability, while Jason perfectly embodies Lucas's brooding nature and internal struggle. 4.5 ⭐️ Empowering and Hot
This was such an amazingly hot story. It was full of tension, frustration, boundaries, and chemistry.
I absolutely love that Sadie & Luke had instant chemistry, but they didn’t instantly like each other, it was a situation of mutual distaste & incredible chemistry. I enjoyed watching them both grow individually and together, they became friends, and pushed boundaries, they both had some past trauma that held them back and watching their relationship grow stronger and each of them slowly healing was intense.
This was so hot, and the narration was absolutely incredible, Jason Clarke & CJ Bloom did an outstanding job bringing this story to life and the duet narration was perfection.

Emotional, hot and oh so naughty
Such a heartfelt, forbidden and beautiful story.
The Goode Brothers have a big hold on my heart. Lucas might be my favorite brother yet. Sadie is a college student that finds herself in an unexpected situation. Lucas offers a room and help to get her life in order. But my goshhh, while Lucas might have seemed to have it all figured out... He was missing Sadie in his life. I loved how these characters both grew and by the end of the book I felt whole and so happy for them.
Jason Clarke and CJ Bloom give LIFE to Lucas & Sadie. To be fair I am weak for any audiobook that has Jason Clarke or CJ Bloom as one of the narrators.
They gave a fantastic performance. Their performances made the story an *experience*. I loved how I felt the emotions as the characters went through them by listening to the audiobook, I felt like I was right there with them.
- Duet Narration by CJ Bloom as Sadie and Jason Clarke as Lucas
- Contains: Student x Professor, Surprise Pregnancy (Not his baby), Roommates, Dom x Brat, Grumpy x Sunshine and Funishments
- Book 3 in the Goode Brothers series. Can be read as a standalone but I recommend to start at book 1.

Fantastic Story & Listen🎧Compelling & Heartfelt!
Sara Cate pens another winning novel, the third in her “Goode Brothers” series and oh my good(e)ness, what a story it is, one that not only captivated my attention the entire time, but tugged at my heartstrings too. Each book in this series features a different brother, and this one is Lucas’ book. Lucas has a doctorate degree and is a college English professor, except for occasional booty calls he keeps mostly to himself. Growing up, his screwed up father treated his family terribly, but he caught the brunt of his anger and it left a bitter taste in his mouth about love and relationships, basically leaving him broken. He is close with his mother and brothers, especially Isaac, though his brothers were not aware they kept in contact. Sadie Green works in Sage’s club with plans of opening her own club and is taking classes to earn a business degree and Lucas teaches one of those classes, a class she arrived late for on the first day, bringing attention to herself and not a good impression with him. Lucas does not know what it is about her, but she gets under his skin and after seeing what a mess she was, he offers her to help her out, which included giving her a place to live. It was great to watch these two get to know each other and see their relationship grow and then morph into something more, and a step away from their norm. I thought these two were amazing together and for each other, his understanding and acceptance of her unplanned pregnancy were admirable. But there is a reason Lucas is a breaker of hearts, or several, and if he can not get past his own insecurities and inner demons, he risks losing everything, including what he did not know he needed. I loved all the layers of this story and how it all played out, with plenty of drama, angst, heartfelt emotions, and steamy romance. And as always, the writing, plot and world building are exceptional, as are the character growth and development. Sara Cate, thank you for another amazing story and emotional rollercoaster ride. I am looking forward to Isaac’s story and what comes next for the Goode brothers and family.
🎧📚🎧 Jason Clarke and CJ Bloom did a fantastic job bringing the characters to life, and did so with a complete understanding of who they were portraying. I loved how they took each role and made it their own, sounding believable and just as I imagined the characters would sound. Both shined in their roles as the two leads, grasping every aspect of their personality, including their demeanor, and they were just as amazing performing the roles of the secondary characters, too. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling each one. These entertaining storytellers are a pleasure to listen to and their performance elevates this already amazing story to another level. Thank you for another fabulous listen.

Enjoyed it
4.5
The Heartbreaker is the 3rd book in the Goode Brothers series and it's Lucas and Sadie's story. It was a steamy, forbidden, professor/student story that took us on quite an emotional roller-coaster ride and held my interest until the end.
Lucas and Sadie were complicated characters who needed each other. Lucas came from an abusive background and was always focused on work, never wanting to settle down, however he relishes the caretaker role. Sadie's life was chaotic and spiraling, and she needed the guidance. They both had certain beliefs, and ideas that was so ingrained you could see the inner struggle they both lived with and the author did a good job showing us why they were perfect for each other.
Their dynamic was interesting as what started out as a Dom/brat roommates relationship eventually changed, the more time they spent together. As expected, the story was filled with tension, drama, and undeniable chemistry and the steamy scenes were scorching. However I wasn't a fan of how things were handled in the 3rd act and it irritated me a bit. However this was still a wonderful addition to the series and I would definitely recommend it.

I listened to the audiobook with was narrated in duet style by Jason Clarke and CJ Bloom. They did a fantastic job with the narration of this story. They had the right pitch and tone and were able to perfectly bring out the personalities of the characters. They brought the story to life and made the listening experience an absolute delight.

Another cracking audiobook in the Goode Brothers series. Loved it
I have really enjoyed all the Goode brothers audiobooks so far and was looking forward to Lucas and Sadie’s story. Lucas has always been a bit of a dark horse throughout the other stories and the glimpse into his life and his backstory with his family and his father is captivating. No spoilers but the closed off academic and the fun, Club manager who ends up in one of Lucas’s classes initially seem like an unlikely pairing. However as their story evolves they are drawn to each other. This audiobook has a great storyline and at times is very funny, heartfelt and angsty whilst the spice is oh so hot. Emotional at times and I did shed a tear. I love Sara’s storytelling and hearing the actors bring this to life is great. However I will be buying this on release day as this will be re-read regularly. Great story, loved this audiobook and an even bigger teaser to Isaac’s story and cannot wait for that story. Can be listened to as a standalone but you would be missing out to not listen to the first two audiobooks. Tropes - surprise pregnancy, professor/ student / forbidden, dom/sub.

Wow!!! This audiobook was absolutely incredible!
I adored the story between Lucas and Sadie and it had me feeling all of the emotions. I laughed with them, cried with them and the chemistry between both MCs was incredible.
This story was intensely hot and I enjoyed watching the MCs grow from mutual distaste, to friends, to lovers. They pushed boundaries and against each other, but ultimately came together, grew stronger and helped each other heal. And the spice was just perfection!
The narration for this was phenomenal! I was already a huge fan of Jason Clarke but this was my first time listening to CJ bloom and wow! They absolutely blew me away! The sheer amount of emotion and passion these two put in to their work was outstanding! They both drew me in to the story, brought these characters to life and I felt completely immersed into this world with Sadie and Lucas. Both narrators were the perfect fit for Sadie and Lucas.
Sara Cate always knows how to write a fantastic story and I am such a fan of her work. The pace of this book was perfect and I was able to see parts of myself in these characters which made it even more relatable. This book did not disappoint and I can’t wait to read future releases from her.
This was a 5 star listen ⭐️ and one I will absolutely listen to again!

Professor x student
The feminism REALLY left my body when I was reading this. I want my own Lucas Goode and would let him do whatever he wanted with me. Jason Clarke may be new favourite male narrator absolutely loved his performance as well as CJ’s!
This is a story about self reflection, family and parenthood. Lucas Goode has never wanted to be a father or a ‘family man’. But deep down he doesn’t realise he’s a natural caretaker. Sadie Green is a s— club manager and an English student but she doesn’t completely have her sh—t together. When Sadie Green ends up being pregnant Lucas takes her in. The two actually hurt heads at time but Sadie is a brat who craves the attention of someone dominant to put her in her place. And Lucas is just the right person to do that even though he is her professor.
Lucas doesn’t realise it but he has this natural care taking ability. This is a semi spoiler if you haven’t read the first two books but Lucas has been living with his youngest brother Isaac and looking after him ever since their father disowned him. He’s been a father figure to Isaac without releasing it. So when Sadie becomes pregnant those caretaking abilities are back in full force.
I will say that it took a while for Sadie to grow on me, she’s young and been through some stuff so it’s understandable that she has her own flaws at the start and I feel like it worked with her character development because she becomes so much more confident in herself. I just wish we learnt more about her academic hopes and dreams as they were extremely different to what she’d achieved in the epilogue.
Lucas definitely had a lot of positive character development as well. He gets some form of closure not necessarily with his father but with the overall idea that although he experienced abuse as a child and didn’t want a family, on top of being a workaholic, it wasn’t the life he ended up leading.
