Brought up on a healthy diet of Shel Silverstein and Roald Dahl, and later, Judy Blume, Julia has always wanted to write for children and young people. Having worked in TV for six years before re-training as a primary school teacher, and via all compass points of London and the Isle of Wight, Julia now lives in Teddington with her family and cats (Billy and Nora). Still sixteen at heart, she aims to write the sort of books that shaped and inspired her as a teenager.
