About this listen

Lucy gets the same bus every day.

She hopes to get a seat to herself, tries to avoid eye contact, and, if she’s really lucky, reads a chapter of her book.

But it’s a Friday - and the bus is always crammed at the end of the week. Personal space doesn’t exist. She keeps her elbows close and clings to a pole at every juddering stop.

When she gets off, something feels different.

An envelope stuffed with thousands of pounds is in her bag.

Is it the answer to her prayers, or the beginning of a nightmare?

Because, in the end, everything has a price.

Easy Listening

A rather gentle psychological thriller. No jumping between time periods, not too many characters, not hard to follow. The author did a good job of painting a picture of each scene making it easy to visualise.

The story centres on Lucy finding that somebody unknown had deposited an envelope containing more than £3k in her bag, which in her current financial state, was desperately needed. A few other odd things start to happen as well, and Lucy sets about trying to establish what is going on and who is behind it all.

Excellent narration by Alison Campbell. Her voices were no distraction to the story at all.

Disappointed- not for me

I have read many of this authors books, but I was disappointed in this offering.
It was just tedious and I stopped caring about the characters, except Billy. I felt sorry for the dog putting up with a drip like his owner.
Wouldn’t recommend.

Slow

It was very slow .I struggled to finish. It was as if it was written by someone else not Kerry Wilkinson. I usually enjoy all written by this author, but sadly not this one

Great story and performance

After a couple of not so enjoyable books I was thrilled to get my teeth in this one. while perhaps a little predictable in places the writer then pulls you back to make you doubt yourself. the right level of emotion from the narrator with an easy voice to listen to. I listened to this book in three sittings.

completely absurd storyline

Protagonist is dozy. Incredibly stupid.

The story is unbelievable.

I cannot understand how a story with this plot can be published.

Lightweight

I wish I had never chosen this book. It was lightweight, boring and a bit silly. The plot was unrealistic and I didn’t much care for the babyish narration either. Don’t waste your time.
