About this listen

The new fostering memoir from the Sunday Times bestselling author Casey Watson

With his young mother in and out of prison, Sammy has been in care since he was nine years old. Left feeling entirely alone, he has never had a proper safe haven.

There is one person looking out for Sammy: his neighbour, ‘Uncle Kenny’. But while Sammy may turn to Kenny for comfort, alarm bells soon start to ring for experienced foster carer Casey Watson…

Will Casey be able to save Sammy before it’s too late?

What an up-to-date reality of his things can really be in this age. Makes you realise how little but also how much miss know. Definitely more education is needed on these topics for younger people. Also more education for adults also.

Casey writes so truthfully you can almost imagine watching it as a fly on the wall, however the narrator is really difficult to listen too. Her voice sounds too posh and "put on" to be casey and the Watson family. I envisage Casey to have a much warmer, loving and comforting voice than that of this narrator who is high pitched and overly posh sort of boycie (only fools) crossed with hyacinth bouquet! it would be great to hear the voice to portray all the love and care that comes through the writing. First time I've actually listened to a casey story rather than reading it but I must admit I'm disappointed it's so well written but the narrator spoils it!

I do like these type of books but the one thing that lets Casey”s audiobooks down is the narrator especially when doing children’s voices she makes them all sound like they have a speech impediment . I find it a little annoying .unfortunately. I wonder if anyone else thinks the same

Great book but poor narration
