Meredith Mitchell's old friend Sally Caswell and her scientist husband have moved from London to the quiet of Oxfordshire, but find nothing but trouble. I love Ann Granger’s writing. Her stories are so much more than the genre labelled “cosy crimes”. The way she builds a scene, introduces characters and eventually leads to the crime is just absolutely wonderful. I feel I’m being led there, taken by the hand. And it’s effortless. The narration by the equally wonderful Judith Boyd is just superb. I think it’s fair to say, I’m a fan!
