Summary

Return to the Comfort Food Cafe for the wedding of the year!

Wedding bells ring out in Budbury as the Comfort Food Café and its cosy community of regulars are gearing up for a big celebration…

But Auburn Longville doesn’t have time for that! Between caring for her poorly mum, moving in with her sister and running the local pharmacy, life is busy enough – and it’s about to get busier. Chaos arrives in the form of a figure from her past putting her quaint village life and new relationship with gorgeous Finn Jensen in jeopardy. It’s time for Auburn to face up to some life changing decisions.

Settle in for a slice of wedding cake at the Comfort Food Café – a place where friendships are made for life and nobody ever wants to leave.

Absolutely love this series

unfortunately, I couldn't finish listening to this book. I absolutely love Debbie Johnson & fell in love with the characters in the Comfort Food Cafe series, but I didn't like the narrator at all, her voice was really high pitched, so I had to end up buying the ebook to finish it off. but overall beautiful series 😍

Bad narrator

I was so disappointed. The narration really ruined this audiobook for me. For a start she reads so slowly but you can’t play at 1.25 speed because she suddenly spreads up at the end of a sentence
She’s also not good with showing emotion in the right way but what really ruins it is the dreadful ‘Danish’ accent which sounds more like Klingon and the Spanish accent which went from French to Greek to Italian and finally Slavic
I wish they had chosen a better reader

Great listen

I really enjoyed being with all the gang back at the comfort food cafe. There seems to be a good understanding of psychology in Debbie’s books and I’m sure we can all relate to one of the characters in some way. This series has been a great comfort blanket for me

Shame about the narrator!!

A lovely tale as usual from Debbie. Another of the characters in previous books has centre stage and tells their story. It has that feel good feeling which leaves you feeling happy and content, apart from the awful impressions of poor Finn who is supposed to Viking but sounds more like Nessa from Gavin And Stacey!! ,and poor Seb who is supposed to be Spanish but seems to move from slightly Spanish to Welsh too!!!!. To begin I found it quite amusing but towards the end, it started to put me off the story a little!!!. Poor Rachael!! This is not meant to be a slur on you, I think they should have given you some help or found someone who could do a better job!!. I still listened throughout, and still enjoyed the story!. So no real complaints!!!.

Great Story and latest book of the series BUT...

...shame about the narrator. I turned off so many times because of the narration voice.

Didn’t enjoy the narration

I’ve been listening to all the Comfort Food Cafe books and thoroughly enjoyed them. Until this one. I thought I would get used to the narrators voice, but sadly no. As a result it detracted from the story, however it hasn’t put me off and I’m looking forward to the next book in the series and fingers crossed for a different narrator 🤞

Okay But accents awful

I’ve loved the comfort food café range but unfortunately the narrator was dreadful at foreign Accents for the two love interests as one was a Viking and one was Spanish and I didn’t know which one was speaking because they both sounded identical I’m very stilted.
