About this listen
I found success with an empathic, heart-centered, and strengths based approach. Though combining different approaches that range from challenging stigma, bolstering self-efficacy, to somatic body-centered work, I was able to carve out the ability overcome basic characteristics that are associated with ADHD. I was able to increase my focus on what’s important, manage my incredible kinetic hyperactivity, and re-direct impulses naturally, without feeling bad about myself. I learned the most important thing is to practice loving-kindness–first toward myself, then toward others. Of course, a heart-centered approach does not just help with ADHD, it helps many other conditions as well.
But for those of us with ADHD, who have suffered with toxic shame–being criticized, berated, and demoralized–because our strength set does not conform with the standards of the world around us, this book is for us! It’s also for your parents, care-givers, teachers, administrators, and friends. So, come along on a journey that can potentially turn your functional impairments in to Superpowers!
