About this listen

Do you eat when you're not hungry? Or when you're angry and upset? Do you eat to control your feelings?

Allen Carr's Easyway is the most successful self-help stop-smoking method of all time. It has helped millions of smokers all over the world to quit and has since been used to treat other addictions such as drinking and gambling. Allen Carr's Easyway method works by unravelling the brainwashing that leads us to desire the very thing that is harming us, meaning that we are freed from the addiction rather than merely restricting our behaviour.

The Easyway method has now been applied to the problem of emotional eating. With Allen Carr's Easyway method, you can eat as much of your favourite foods as you want, whenever you want, as often as you want and be the exact weight you want to be, without dieting, special exercise, using willpower or feeling deprived.

Do you find that difficult to believe? Listen to this audiobook.

An exciting approach

Insightful and definitely worth a read. Changes your attitude to junk food as opposed to trying to motivate you. Feeling more positive already. Will read again to reinforce messages.

life changer

I had a very open mind!!! which I think is important for this to work.
This concept really resonated with me and I now see so many of my friends struggling how I used to. 3 months in and one and half stone down. I do not crave for bad foods, I just don't want them- crazy, but it works. I desperately try to get people who I see struggling day to day with food to listen to this book, to no avail!! I feel at peace with food!!!.. long may it continue! hope it works for all others that follow the easy way.

I hope it will work

It was easy listening tbh. Very calming voice. I have impression that it is kind of brainwashing to get over another brainwashing, even if they say it isn't. Time after time it was repetitive, but I did enjoyed it.
I just finished book and I'm hungry, but I really don't want junk. I hope this feeling won't disappear in couple hours.

Repetitive but good

I lost concentration a few times as it repeated the same thing several times. It maybe could be shorter and more to the point as there is some good information and facts in there. Definitely worth a read for anyone struggling with their eating

Dreadful Narration

I think that it is too simplistic to just swap smoking for overeating which is what this book fundamentally does, although of course, there is a lot of crossover. I am an ex-smoker and can see how this approach would work. What I really object to is the narrators patronising tone and insistence on saying that people always overeat on junk, are addicted to junk, need to avoid junk, you get the picture. You can overeat without it being junk and I also think that to have a slice of cake to celebrate a birthday, or some crisps on the odd occasion is 'normal' eating. According to the book you shouldn't ever touch the foods described as junk, and that's why it's easier to apply this method to smoking, which you don't need to do to survive.

In my head, I swap the word 'junk' for overeating. It is the behaviour I want to change. I don't want to bin complete groups of food, which for me, leads ironically, to overeating.

I am not convinced that the narrator really understands the issue and I think that you need to to do a good job. That said, I may buy the hard copy because some of the content was interesting and useful.

Too focused on junk food not emotional eating

I don’t eat junk food and rarely have a takeaway. I don’t eat sugar. But I do use food as a crutch and overeat when stressed/for comfort etc. I really thought this would deal with that rather than the focus on purely junk food…
