Summary
From Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen, the authors of the top 10 best seller The Wife Between Us, comes An Anonymous Girl - an electrifying novel about doubt, passion and deadly obsession....
Seeking women ages 18-32 to participate in a study on ethics and morality. Generous compensation. Anonymity guaranteed.
When Jessica Farris signs up for a psychology study conducted by the mysterious Dr Shields, she thinks all she’ll have to do is answer a few questions, collect her money and leave. But as the questions grow more and more intense and invasive, and the sessions become outings where Jess is told what to wear and how to act, she begins to feel as though Dr Shields may know what she’s thinking...and what she’s hiding. As Jess’ paranoia grows, it becomes clear that she can no longer trust what is real in her life and what is one of Dr Shields’ manipulative experiments. Caught in a web of deceit and jealousy, Jess quickly learns that some obsessions can be deadly.

A disappointing ending
The story overall was not badly written, though there were exaggerations and some choices did not seem logical, but there were moments too when the author would convey the feeling of the main character quite well. The ending was not what I expected and didn't seem to fit quite all right

I’m so undecided on this.
I liked the narrators. I actually imagine Barrie”s version of the therapist could be irritating to some but I liked it because it was menacing yet smart. You could totally get a picture in your head of Dr Shields because of this. But the story itself seemed farfetched. I listened to The Wife Between us before and quite enjoyed that so download the others… I just don’t feel it was believable but it was enjoyable enough.

Totally implausible but great fun
A rollicking good story about a young woman who gets sucked into a manipulative psychiatrist’s web of mind games. It’s chock full of hyperbole (endless cliffhangers, twists and situations causing adrenal gland overdrive) but no less entertaining for it. Recommended.

Implausible but still entertaining
One of those “girl on a “ style psychological thrillers that’s great for easy listening and sheer enjoyment. Excellent presentation with the two main voices and the story’s not bad either. A tad implausible, but hey, still a good, fun listen.

WOW
Loved it, it was intriguing and had me gripped from the very beginning. The main characters were well rounded and the development of the plot exciting. I am excited and cant wait to read another from these two!

Great Storyline
once again Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen write an explosive story filled with twists and turns. I kept thinking I had it all figured out, but I was wrong. I definitely recommend this to anyone who enjoys a book that they don't instantly know everything that is going to happen.

Really realistic!
I loved this book! As I have knowledge on psychological studies and how they are conducted, I found the beginning with the questions very realistic. The questions, I feel are necessary to make the reader come to the realisation that this whole book is one study. I recommend this book to those with psychological knowledge or an interest in psychology

Entertaining
I enjoyed this. When there were hours left though I thought it couldn’t possibly take all that time to reach the end and I feared it would be padded out or worse a few chapters of a new book. It was neither.

Such a strange book
I have read many books in my life so trust me when I tell you that this is one of the strangest tales I’ve ever read. The authors are certainly talented storytellers and I enjoyed their two other books.
But this one, about a “girl” who gets involved in a spurious psychological study run by a mysterious academic is too peculiar for words. I did persevere with it till the end but was left with the question, what possessed them to tell this story?

A good enough story
I listened to this book on Audible. it was narrated by one of my favourite Narrators, Julia Whelan, She's an excellent narrator. The premise of the story was good, narration as mentioned was excellent, but I couldn't bring myself to give this story top marks, as there were too many inconsistencies and loop holes in the story and some of the characters. Some parts became a little unbelievable at times and the ending??? What was that all about?! I didn't like the ending one but. I found it rushed and abrupt, I was listening to it and then suddenly....The End.
