Summary

A brand new Skulduggery Pleasant novella for World Book Day: a hilarious and thrilling standalone story in the internationally bestselling series – perfect for new readers, and essential for Skulduggery fans…

Three ancient gods are freed from their prison with only one desire: to destroy the planet and everyone on it.

To save us all, Skulduggery Pleasant and Valkyrie Cain must go undercover in a Dublin school. Skulduggery has to blend in with the teaching staff, while Valkyrie has to pass for an ordinary schoolgirl. Above all else, no matter what happens, they both must act completely and utterly normal.

We are so dead.

Don't Open The Box!

I used to have all the Skullduggery first edition hardbacks and the spin off and the other WBD short but, on being deeply disappointed by the cop-out climax, gave them all away to a charity shop.

Which makes the timeline a little confusing for me. Valkyrie is 16 here and a character that died is referenced as if still alive; so, no clue what's going on there...

BUT

It was still a fun, funny, movie length short, well paced and compelling.

Also, not used to hearing the Irish accent so am delighted to have chosen the Audible format. The narrator did a fantastic job!

Now am tempted to maybe refresh self on the previous Skullduggery books and the ones I missed. From the library though, that'll do.

All in all, it was great to be back, saving the world alongside Valkyrie and the best dressed skeleton dude in the history of ever.

Recommend it to fans and to the curious of any age (I'm an adult) and gender. You don't need a synopsis - just dive in!

Absolutely banging

Love Derek Landy, love Kevin Hely. Absolutely banging book and one of my favourite side stories in the series, especially because of the time frame it take place in. Absolute banger. 100% recommend.

Also, I would like to point out that I am a very slow eater; it took me the entire duration of this audiobook to eat a pizza. Just wanted to say that.

Funny and Fast

This was a terrific little story that made me laugh a lot when Skulduggery went in disguise. There’s a bit of adventure and fighting with some awesome moves, plus a nice little moral message at the end. Feels good. Loved it. Great title too, as usual. The narrator of this audiobook was great. I do recommend.

A decent short story

Personally this wasn't my favourite but some good laughs and hints of classic skullduggery.
