Summary

As humanity is taking its final breath, facing extinction from a myriad of monsters, the last three people on earth are creating a final chance for the hero to go back in time and stop the apocalypse. However, before the hero can enter the chronomancer portal to the past, she and the portal's creator are both killed, leaving only the weak assistant to carry on their dream of saving the world. Will Nick be able to right the wrongs done to him, and prepare the hero for the world to come?

When time weighs heavily, it's time to hit the weights in this regression LitRPG/Gamelit story of dungeon-diving, leveling stats, and facing down the apocalypse!

Excellent start to a series

This was a new series and authors to me but I was extremely grateful I came across this book, excellent storytelling right from the start, and a great twist on the time travel aspect of the story. The characters grow as the book progresses only endearing themselves to the listener. This is a joint author team but hard to see where one author or the other has input as the story flows seamlessly. The narrators do a great job bring flesh to the stories bones. Highly recommended to anyone if you like LitRPG or just a good adventure storyline. 5 stars all around and cannot wait for the series to continue.

Good story, but nothing is exceptional

Overall a descent time travel post apocalyptic LitRPG story. The MC is reasonable and the world building is interesting. However, at this point I’ve read so many similar stories and this one felt mostly repetitive. It is still generally good, but yeah, it wasn’t amazing. I’ll probably read the 2nd book.

Lucy but responsible bastard

Not arrogant MC is a good point.
His class is totally boring, but comes with an epic buff. The second mc see true him like a wife ;) even so his stats are really good! But nobody cares about his poisoning, not even his family?!

It’s a good listen!

My immense regret and despair

I would like to preface this review by saying that the narrator is honestly rather good, and that on a fundamental level this story contains pretty much every element I could ever want.

from the tags, to the art, to the overarching structure of the story is exactly what I'm looking for.

All of that is to say that the horrific and soulless writing is the one and only thing to blame for the total ruination of what could have been a good book.

In fairness I should've known better, and this author has taught me the value in making a minor effort in looking at a writer's previous works, and I highly recommend any poor soul lured here to do the same.

To call the writing "style" simple, is a mockery of skill and practice in all forms across all cultures.

The mark of a simple but good work is to be so good at doing something it appears smooth and effortless while containing great depth of meaning and intent behind the decisions that went into its development.

The onlymark this garbage has left on me is one of pain and sadness, and it leaves me filled a fiery passion for reinstating public executions.
