Summary
MMA fighter Harmony “Harm” Makos steps into the ring every day for more than the fame and glory of the fight. For her, it’s the alternative to therapy. An opportunity to tame the constant beast struggling to break free. Hardened by a broken home and high school ridicule, she’s learned to control the fury but it always lurks beneath the surface.
When a threat on her life arrives in the form of an ominous letter, a bodyguard is assigned to follow her every move. Harm is immediately against the idea, and the animosity rises when said bodyguard is none other than former MMA men’s heavyweight champion, Mars.
Between their heads butting at every turn, forced proximity, and constant banter, Harm will discover Mars isn’t all that he seems. Around him, visions of battle, chaos, and destruction plague her thoughts. The red glint in his eyes holds more than mystery - it bears the unknown cure for both their fury...if they can learn to work together, that is.

You’ll get knocked out with this great listen
Book 3 in this modern Greek God retelling Carly Spade , the author threw this story out of the park. I’m probably one of the few that likes Aries , ( Mars ) of the Greek gods.
Aries has lived on earth for yrs , a few thousand, when his father ( King of the gods ) threw him off Mount Olympus .
Harm is the top lady with the belt in the MMA . Aries is in the MMA also till he retires. Once Mars and Harm start working together Harm starts getting these weird flashbacks, fighting in Ancient times. She’s wondering why did it start when she started working with Mars. Not only that a few of the Greek minor Goddesses pay Harm ( Harmony ) a visit , why .
Yes Zeus ( Jupiter does a guest appearance). Grab it and see what the visions mean and why the minor goddess pay Harm a visit
Sophie Daniels performance was phenomenal. How she did all the characters, Sophie did all the Greek slang words like a real Greek.

great series
Mars (Ares) has retired from the MMA and now works as a body guard. Harmony (Harm) the female MMA champion has been receiving threats and her publicist hires Mars to keep her safe. When they meet sparks fly. the humour and the steam in this story is great and I look forward to reading and listening to more by this author. the narrator is excellent.

mmm
Great book, loved the link back to other books too. The story make sense, not as heated descriptively as previous books, and liked the interferance from the other greeks. I liked the theme of finding family even if dysfunctional, and of sharing the burdens.

Loving this series and this one doesn't disappoint
As I work my way through this series, I can't help but get pulled more and more into Greek mythology. Having very little personal knowledge I am loving learning more about the gods.
Ares, the god of war is fighting in MMA and becomes Harm's bodyguard when someone threatens her life.
The interactions between these two are great, they don't particularly like each other but can both clearly see the attraction as they bicker back and forth. As they are forced to spend time together, they realise that they are not so different after all.
I liked the flash backs to old battles, and the way that Harm was tied to them too. And I love when other gods come into the story, although I don't think I would ever attempt a family tree!
I felt like I could see the relationship building between these two and just how well suited they were for each other.
Narrator Sophie Daniels does a great job, and I loved Ares accent, definitely pulled me into the story more.
My only complaint would be the English accent of a very minor character...as a Brit, it really made me cringe.

Great listen
This is book 3 in the Contemporary Mythos series we are introduced to Harmony Makos who goes by Harm she is an MMA fighter at the top of her game . When she goes to watch another fight she sees Mars and when they see each they feel a connection. When Harm is threatened her manager brings in a bodyguard and it turns out to be Mars although she isn’t happy they both soon realise they have feelings and that’s when Mars tells her he’s really Ares the god of war. I love listening to stories about Greek gods and this is another hit from Carly Spade and the narration by Sophie Daniels was great her male voices are perfect especially her Ares voice .
