I have read this book several times and this was the first time with Audible. I cannot rate highly enough the narrator was perfect. The character's voices believable and likeable. The story is basically a romance with real adventure. Loved it!!

One of the few novels not set in regency times, and with some over archane language. However a fun hero and cracking story finely performed by the narrator.

This has been my favourite Georgette Heyer romantic adventure, great characters and very well read.

This wasn’t my favourite listen too book. Matt Addis actually with his mastery of narration kept me listening. Maybe it was just because the author strayed away from the usual regency locals that put me off, but it won’t stop me listening to a great authors books.

Beauvallet is just too perfect, too merry and positively teflon coated. I can evisage Errol Flynn playing him in a very dated fifties movie.
