As her new husband's attentions fall elsewhere, Horry begins to feel increasingly unhappy.

Then she meets the attractive and dangerous Lord Lethbridge, and her days suddenly become more exciting.

Didn’t want it to end

Loved this from start to finish. Classic Heyer - definitely worth a second listen. It has all the detail and twists one could want with well developed characters.

Didn't want it to end.

Everything about this was GH at her very best.
Characters
Humour
Intrigue
Action
Romance

Even though I wanted to know the outcome, I didn't want the book to end. As soon as I finished it, I wanted to start reading it straight away. However this will be a book I treat myself to, as a delicious break from my murder mysteries.
I highly recommend this, it is now my favourite GH book and I never thought Frederica or The Grand Sophie would be toppled from their shared Top Spot!

Couldn’t get on with the stuttering

Love this story but couldn’t listen past chapter three. Did she have to read every stutter from Horatia?? It was too annoying!

The conveniently perfect audiobook

The convenient marriage was the first Georgette Heyer book I ever read & I was hooked on Heyer from that point on. I have read & listened to various audiobook versions of this story over the years & I know that I will be listening to this audiobook many more times in the future.
Avita Jay has done a brilliant job in her telling of the story & her range of voices for the different characters was very well done. I felt her enthusiasm as she drew me back into a story that I knew very well but I just had to keep listening; it was like visiting a story for the very first time.
I will certainly be looking out for other audiobooks by Avita Jay in the future, she is a great addition to audiobooks.
Just on another note I was a little disappointed to see most of the other versions of Georgette Heyer books have disappeared from Audible listings, though I had managed to buy most of them, there was still a few I had wanted to add to my library. Could Audible not add a “soon to be retried list” so that it gives customers a chance to purchase books before they disappear for good. It is disappointing if you are collecting a series or a particular authors work & then find out you have missed your chance. I try to use my credits wisely & I also buy books from the sales & special promotions but there are so many genres of books that I collect from, that I have to limit what I can purchase each month.

Charming story …

It is a charming story - unfortunately I felt that the story finished to soon …
After such a long extensive lead …. It is within three sentences finished - which I found disappointing

But all in all - MOST ENJOYABLE!

enjoyable romp

.Am enjoying going back to Georgette Hayer as it's lovely to not have the explicit sex descriptions as in some pale imitations.

disappointing narration

the narrator copes reasonably well most of the time but I don't think she understands what a lot of the words mean, or she's insensitive to meaning, or something.
she doesn't know the book, she doesn't know GH, she doesn't understand the slang, and she doesn't seem to really care.
