Summary

The body of young, paralyzed Luca, a boy killed by cruel bullies, becomes home to an interdimensional traveler. This is the 99th world for this traveler who has spent an entire life in each of his previous worlds. And now, he is out of lives, his previous misdeeds leaving him with a negative balance of points and preventing him from reincarnating anew. Once he realizes that he must spend his final life in a poverty-stricken family in a backward world, he awakens the consciousness of the deceased Luca and ends his own physical existence, leaving all his abilities to his heir.

One such ability is the use of the Wheel. Every traveler can spend points to spin the Wheel and gain a special talent, a superpower, or...a deadly illness. Luca spins the Wheel and gains the superpower of metamorphosis. Now, he can regenerate, recover from deadly wounds, and even take on the shape of other beings. The young man takes on the form of the Emperor: to avoid death, help his family, and finally, to bring order to the Empire!

Great listen

This book has a decent story and a good narrator.

This book has a full 180 degree turn and it works, I believe that this book has a few points that are lacking but overall the book is well written, spoke, planned and I would recommend it.

Need more!

Normal Heroes journey. Really well written just like all of Dan's books.
Rally disappointed I can't find the rest in this series despite it being five years old.

The superhero ...OP MC you didn't know you were looking for. The writing is great and the reader even better. I'm invested bow and love it.

Interesting twist, but something was lacking

Protagonist was meh. Story was an interesting idea, but felt a little scattered and over complicated. Not bad for a free book, but probably won't be continuing the series

No sense of the main character

It is justified in the plot but the main character is often just whoever he needs to be for the scene to work. Combined with the fact that he's pretty bland to start with and he's not just boring, but actually doesn't feel like a character.

the plot has similar problems. whatever is needed is always provided
