Summary

Penguin presents the unabridged, downloadable audiobook edition of Wars of the Roses: Bloodline, the third instalment in Conn Iggulden's thrilling Wars of the Roses trilogy.

Winter 1461 - Richard Duke of York is dead, his ambitions in ruins, his head spiked on the walls of York city. King Henry VI is still held prisoner. His Lancastrian queen rides south with an army of northerners, accompanied by warriors from the Scottish Highlands. Margaret and her army seem unstoppable. But his death has unleashed York's sons.

Edward of March, now Duke of York, proclaims himself England's rightful king. Through blood and treason, broken men and vengeful women, brother shall confront brother, king shall face king. Two men may claim a crown. Only one can keep it.

Excellent listen<br />

Exciting narrative capturing the intrigue and brutality of a dark and shamefull period in England's history hitherto unsurpassed until a Mondsy night in France against Iceland in Euro 2016

Another engrossing instalment!

I think this series just gets better with every instalment - this is another thrilling novel that flew by so fast.

I grew up close to the Towton battle field so particularly enjoyed listening to the reimagining of the battle, horrible as it was.

Gutted that I don't have a credit in the bank to move on to the next in the series before the end of this month! 😣

This was a lot better than the second book however it is not as good as the first. I am looking forward to the final one and hope that it ends well.

Great installment.

Thoroughly enjoyable continuation of this fictional history. All that I said about the first two books still applies here. Keep at it Conn.

Not quite at same level as others in series

A perfectly reasonable book and given its the third of four you should stick with it - but it is a notch below the first two books in the series. Roy McMillan excellent as ever

Great listen

Great blend of historical fact and some fiction to flesh out a great story. Can't wait to get started on book 4. The author includes a note at the end of the book to inform the reader of some of the true recorded history and where some artistic licence was used. The author clearly is very knowledgable on the period on which he writes and can also spin a great yarn. Narrator has a pleasant English accent and reads at a comfortable pace. I recommend this book.
