Summary
Obsession is the deadliest vice.
Carrera.
A word whispered in fear. A name to avoid at all costs. Until I come face-to-face with it.
Abducted. Held against my will. Prisoner of a war I know nothing about.
Captive to a ruthless cartel prince who wants more than my freedom.... He wants me.
I should hate him…. But the deeper Valentin drags me into his bloodstained world, the harder it becomes to resist.
Until that stain? That blood? It becomes mine…. And I'm no longer a prisoner of war.
I am the war.

Edge of your seat... can't wait for more!
This audio was the perfect combination of everything. Amazing. The story was great, the dialogue was amazing, the characters were real and awesome to get to know through the story. The narrators... incredible. They really put in a fantabulous performance that added an extra layer to the story. I will definitely listen again.

All the stars!!!
This is an incredibly good audio. The story is intense, fast paced, convoluted, dark and completely compelling. I have been riveted from start to finish. Both Eden and Val are fabulous characters, but add in Nash, Brody, Mateo and Emilio, and you have even more to draw you in.
Sarah Puckett is amazing. Her narration is outstanding. Alan Carlson captures and brings Brody to life. But, for me, the star is the wonderful, gifted, talented Brian Pallino. His voice is beautiful and rich. The loss of this gifted man is one which, as just an audience to his talent, is felt deeply. Be at peace. 💖💖💖💖💖💖💔

Yes This Book!
I love it when a book keeps me guessing and this book did that. It had many twist and turns, There was a little of everything from danger to romance who doesn't like a good mafia romance!! Top it off with amazing narration and you get a book you can't put down! 🎧 PInkFlamingoProductions 🎧AudioObsessionReviewer

Thrilling and all consuming!
This book was not what I was expecting at all.
Valentin is the head of the Carrera Cartel in Houston (insert squeal here), he is a ruthless killer.
Eden is a bartender and lives a fairly quiet life, until she meets Valentin. The things she sees, they are unbearable. She has never been a part of violence in her life. This is all new and scary as hell. When she is kidnapped, she thinks it is the end. But there are more players in the game than she realizes and the bad guys aren't always as obvious as they seem.
The prologue to this book had me. Completely and utterly had me. I was hooked. I needed to know!
This book takes place all over southern Texas and in parts of Mexico which was a sweet surprise to me when they mentioned Victoria, Houston, Hwy 59, Corpus Christi.. this is home to me. I know these places and it was surreal to see them in this sense. Not the way that I see them on a regular basis. This is the dark side of home to me.
I loved watching Eden grow so to speak. I loved how the blinders came off and she saw a whole new world that she wasn't privy to before she was kidnapped and at times it was scary but it was so thrilling to me.
I love that Cora didn't hold back on the bloodshed and the violence, she didn't skate over the issues and made this book feel so real. The intermixing of Spanish and English was soo perfect. It gave the book more of a real feel. I loved every part of this book and want more. I need to know what happens next, where this thing goes.
These narrators did an amazing job! I just wished Sarah Puckett would have either done a better Mexican accent or not done one at all. She sounded more Russian than Mexican but small little issue that definitely didn't deter enough to remove a star. I loved this book so much and the fact that there are three narrators was new for me but it was necessary with the triple POV and I loved Valentin and the strong Mexican accent for Valentin was spot on!

I think this has become my new favorite mafia book, and I cannot wait to listen to the other two. I haven’t read anything from Cora Kenborn before, and I am excited to dive deeper into her books. She is a wonderful author.
Now for the narrators, A-MA-ZING. All three of them knocked this out of the park.
I was given a free copy of this audiobook at my request, and have voluntarily left this review.

Val and Eden 🔥
I enjoy a good mafia story. Eden falls into danger when she crosses Valentin Carrera. The Carreras are feared and they are ruthless. I loved that Eden was no wallflower, she was just as intense. The plot is interesting with lots of action and suspense. It is also hot between these enemies to lovers characters. The narrators are a delight to listen to.
