About this listen

Her:

I wanted to have a pity party of one when I went for that beer. I never imagined I would meet a dark and dangerous man. That man took me on the wildest ride of my life. Literally and figuratively. He quickly became my entire world.

Him:

I didn't know I was looking for her. I saw her warming that bar stool and knew she would be mine. A man like me doesn't deserve the likes of her. But damned if I didn't take it.

Her:

When we met for the first time we didn't know that we already had a connection. A cruel game was being played, and we didn't know the rules. Sam would save us, but at what cost? Sam was one of my main reasons for living. If he wasn't in this world anymore, would I still want to be a part of it?

Fell in love

Between the characters, the humour and the steam . I couldn't love it more.

Thoroughly Enjoyed

I loved this book, it was full of exciting stuff. It kept my attention throughout, lots of funny bits and a few scary moments too.

Both narrators were excellent. Looking forward to the next one.

Meh.

Decided to try give this series a listen as I saw Mason was one of the VA, and I have loved all his work so far. Again, his parts on the book are amazing. He does a great job as always. But I have to say, not a huge fan of the female narrator. And gutted that shes covered most of the book and I’m more than 2/3 of the way through. The narration from her just sounds so dreary, and makes the book hard to stay gripped too. The story is okay, although i feel like the MCs relationship felt really rushed. However it’s not enough to push me away from the book. But yeah, kinda gutted for this one. I can see the duo narrate the rest of the series and I’m happy to listen to Mason all day. But after this books performance from the female narrator. I’m not sure if I can sit and listen to more from her.

Fabulous story

I always enjoy stories from this author, and this one is no different. The characters are likeable and the storyline is engaging.

Meh

I’ve listened to a few books from this series and I have to say it’s a very cliche very predictable, very poorly written story. The male and female characters are completely the same in each of the books, I could have easily read the whole thing using the same name for all the protagonists and it wouldn’t have made a difference. There is LOADS of sexism, misogynistic comments both by male and female characters, a whole lot of slut shaming. Just very outdated views on life and society, extremely pro war and pro guns. There are pro life comments and anti abortion lines. It’s the 21st century…just a no from me. Other than that it’s like a soap opera, everything ridiculous cliche thing you can imagine happens. There is no character building, the protagonists see each other and without talking they just love each other and don’t want anyone else. A good romance book makes you fall for the characters by getting to know them, this doesn’t happen here. They literally hardly have a few sentences of conversation and have sex a few times and then get married. Just meh…

too fast

i don't really like the female protagonist..She Is so childish and i don't really like also the story .
everithing happens so fast... and they are in love in Just a month. too short of a time for me. i prefer long and slow seduction with misunderstanding and a bit of drama . i absolutelly loved Heroes of Dixie warden but this serie is not like
that One.

Too rushed.

I enjoyed some aspects of this book but it’s felt rushed and immature for a 25 year old woman.
