Britain's number one breath coach presents a practical audio guide to breathwork.
We breathe around 20,000 times per day, but how often do we think about how we breathe and the power of our breath? Breathwork is being hailed as the next yoga, and Rebecca Dennis is on a mission to share her expertise and knowledge, teaching the benefits of breathwork and how it can make you happier, healthier and calmer.
Rebecca Dennis has worked with thousands of clients as a breathwork coach, seeing transformative results. In Breathe she presents her breathwork audio course, which includes more than 15 guided breathing exercises accompanied by soothing music and soundscapes, which can be returned to again and again. Breathe provides a breathwork toolkit to ease stress and anxiety, increase mental focus, boost energy levels, enhance emotional resilience and achieve good sleep health. Great book to aid sleep
I confess I didn't use this book as intended. Initially I started listening interestedly during the day. At some point though I listened before bed and found it let me drift off to sleep very effectively. Perhaps one day, when my attention settles, I will try again to use it for personal growth and reflection - but it currently gets me to sleep when all else fails. There are some factual inaccuracies like the now discredited Microsoft survey that suggested attention spans had shortened to less than that of a goldfish, which didn't add anything significant anyway and I expect will be taken out of future revised editions.

A good time to help you breathe to a calmer life
This new book by an established Breathing Expert should be useful for two reasons. Firstly, it's an interesting and calm explanation of how and why good breathing practice can benefit your health, physically and emotionally. Secondly, it's a personal tutorial that enables the reader to improve breathing techniques with the expert gently guiding you through the exercises. That's the advantage of having this book in audio as it feels as if the author is actually with you in the room, working in a one-to-one relationship.
With so many people feeling pressured by lockdown with worries over relationships, emotions and financial stability, there could hardly be a better time for this book.

Perfect for the curious as well as the refreshers
I had this book on my wishlist for months and it was so worth the wait!
The exercises and explanations are great and I will continue to keep going back to this for years to come I know.
Only suggestions would be for the exercises to be a chapter in the book. This would help me find them. I enjoy listening to information as I potter about but I might be in the middle of something so cannot do the exercise straight away. It would also help me to find the exercises at a later date.

Everyone needs Rebecca in their life.
I was fortunate to meet Rebecca years ago and she sparked an interest in breathwork that has quite literally changed my life.
When she first told me about how beneficial it was I was skeptical.... I was really unwell at the time and on very strong medication.
However, the way she explained breathwork to me, stuck with me.
I cannot recommend her books highly enough.
Put in the work to practice her methods and you will be rewarded ten-fold.
Thank you Rebecca, for the gift of breath... I no longer hold mine without realising!

Essential Work guided by a pro
I highly recommend listening to this beautifully curated guide to Breathwork. Rebecca’s online workshops really helped to get me through 2020 with my sanity intact and I have been searching for guided sessions that I could do in my own time. This book provides that and more & I’m
so thankful to Rebecca to creating it. I love the combination of the emerging science of breathwork with practical guidance in the form of exercises with soundscapes. I know that this guide will be my very close & dependable companion for 2021 and beyond - just like my breath! Thank you Rebecca!

Poor audio experience
I just couldn't get on with this book. The narrator and the background music were unpleasant.

Essential listening to cope with Anxiety.
After traumatic family bereavements due to Covid, this book showed me how to restore my life and gave me the tools to help myself regain my sanity. I have bought her other book and am now listening to podcasts of hers on Audible. Rebecca, I don't know you but will be forever in your debt. I now start each day listening to and doing breathing exercises
