Summary

At the tender age of seven, Jess Riley's parents were ripped out of her life by the Tear, a ripple of white light in the sky which randomly transports people from Earth to alternate realities and distant planets once a year. On the night the Tear first appeared, the Watchers, a mysterious group of men possessing supernatural powers, made their presence known to the leaders of the world, earning their complete trust to deal with the turmoil the Tear caused.

Now 22 years old, Jess is an agent working for the Watcher Agency searching for a way to bring her parents back home. When the leader of the Watchers, Mason Collier, recruits her to join his team, Jess quickly discovers she is meant to play a major role in sealing the Tear forever. Mason and Jess instantly find themselves drawn to one another but they both resist their mutual attraction for different reasons. Broken by past events in their lives, they each struggle to overcome their fears and find the strength to take a chance on one another.

Unusual storey line

Really enjoyed this book. I’m not religious and can’t judge the biblical accuracy. The story warm and romantic. Good vs evil.

Brilliant story as I've listened to all 4 audio's

Brilliant story, and I can't wait for book 5 to come out. Great characters. It's a real story more so than just intimate scenes. Also a cute touch on soul mates. Enough detail to imagine the main characters may look in the authors eyes.

Good paranormal romance

At first I thought this was a sci-fi story but it has more paranormal elements to it. Lots of angels and demons will play a crucial role in the life of a human guard and is like a special agent that helps deal with extraterrestrials that get swapped with humans. There are a lot of details to the story and lots of action but no spice. Good story that kept me hooked and I got finish it in a few hours (I did speed up the narration at times).
Narration was really good too.

A love story with punch.

I don't normally write reviews, but this book is worth it.

it is enjoyable beginning to end. Yes, it's a love story but not sappy. Rather real and almost adult.

I hate books that have a weak or dumb heroin. This book has characters with real people flaws and pain without making you want to reach through the book and beat some sense into them.

overall, one of the better books I've listened to recently. The narrator is easy to listen to and the writing is really good.

looking forward to the next book.

Ok

An entertaining listen, especially as it was free on the Plus catalogue. The narrator is a bit monotonous when she represents Jess, but one gets used to it.

Jess is a bit too wholesome for my liking, but it didn’t become overbearing. Unfortunately, the second instalment isn’t as entertaining. (See my review for Kindred for more info on the next book.)

I really liked this book, would have given 5* had the book not ended with 42mins remaining . ( sneak view to next book) one of the reasons i got this book was the length .

Loved it. Fantasy book but not so unbelievable

Due to parts of which some believe is real ie watchers an other realities ect made it somewhat believable as well as non fiction
Also the book hits on tiny bits of real life problems but still whisks you away into realms of fantasy
Narrator very good an gave the star character a real flare. She does a great job giving them all there separate voices an personalities all though Lucifer s Australian is a bit funny. I think a hot British accent would of suited him in this better but that's just my opinion.
Book one has paved the way for what i think will be an even better book 2 which I'm starting now.
