Summary

No one screws with my family.

My sister and I are human orphans raised by the world’s best assassin, taught to steal and kill our way through the dragonlands under her watchful eye. Grown men fear us, and no one knows we’re coming until it’s too late to run.

Irena and I - we’re good. The best. In a dog-eat-dragon kind of world, we have to be. But someone betrayed us. Someone we trusted with our lives.

Irena is missing. My mentor is gone. And as for me...the man responsible for this mess thought he killed me. He kicked me into a pit, and he left me to die.

But I don’t give up that easy.

In the darkness, facing death itself, I fused with dragons. I had no choice. This is ancient magic, and dangerous people want it. They want me, dead or alive, and they’ll start a war if that’s what it takes to control me.

The magic I discovered - the magic these brutal people want - it’s mine, plain and simple. No one can take it from me. And I’m coming back from the dead.

For blood. For vengeance.

For Irena.

Reign of Dragons is a full-length novel with a badass heroine, a riveting storyline, and an alternative relationship dynamic. Get ready for a heart-pounding story filled with a dragon shifter romance unlike anything you’ve heard before.

Buckle in for heart-pounding action, breathtaking magic, deadly assassins, four drop-dead gorgeous leading men, lots of toned muscles, and most importantly - a young woman’s journey of justice, self-discovery, and freedom.

Enjoyed it.

I enjoyed the first book but not as much as the Dragon Blood series. Both in grip of the story, characters and narration. Overall, quite enjoyable and I will go to the next book.

Boring

Not sure who Rory is trying to convince that she's a fearless fighter and assassin, herself or the reader.

Gave up reading when it looked like turning into R.H. book.

A mixed bag!

I enjoyed the beginning. It was an interesting concept for a book but the introduction into the world/realm was lacking detail. It was easy enough to piece together while reading over the first few chapters but I would have liked a Tolken-esk style introduction with a little more lore and background. This would have made the story come alive and I could have been a bit more invested in the series.

As you continue it gets a little repetitive which may have been for impact but starts to make you lose motivation. Word choice was clearly an issue and you get the feeling the writing is using 'a cut and paste' of phrases and words to pad the book out.

The story was amazing potential. I really enjoyed the idea of a strong lead but the characterisation of the main was lacking and inconsistent. It was difficult to get any feeling for her. Other characters are drawn to her for no apparent reason other than her incredible good looks, no explanation is given for anything otherwise and its hard to see why.

I almost gave up around half way when it turn into a poorly written 50 shades of Gray. I enjoy my fantasy with less 'girth cocks' and 'entrances.' Perhaps just a preference.

The end seemed rushed. I was on chapter 46 wondering how this was going to end then by 50 it was all wrapped up in sloppy written semi-cliffhanger.

Unfortunately, I have no connection with any of the characters especially Drew who just seems as random as a pea in an pineapple tin. Sure he was helping but doesn't actually explain who he is or why he's helping. Also doesn't explain how he knew where she was in the end.

There were a few inconsistencies in the writing but overall not the worst thing I've read. Will not continue with the series.

Very enjoyable

The story is a little drawn out and sometimes I could have skipped 1 or 2 minutes because the story kept hammering in the same information over and over.
Otherwise, an enjoyable experience and I will be continuing to listen to the series.

Needs More Dragon Fighting and Less Nonsense

The story is good and I like the way the whole thing is told from the 1st person perspective of the main protagonist.

Unfortunately a good story about warring dragons is ruined by all the sex scene nonsense. It made me cringe.
