I have listened to alot of Elena books over the years. And I did not know she can sing. what a bonus. She was as always amazing. she is the most professionel narrator there is. always on point. I havent listened to any books that Robert have narrated before. But he and Elena really complimented each other. Their voices had a really good flow together. And he was perfect as Alex.
Just as much as I loved every second JF Harding did his part as Hunter. wow. he is the perfect Hunter. cant wait to get his book, especially if he will be contracted for this book.
The Book.
First. I have said this before about books in this series. And I will say it again, but this series is about so much more the Romance. I would go so far to say, that Laurelin is more then "just" a Romance author. Because the women and womens equal rights topic is so much bigger. All the tight narrow lines women can walk in this would, without being judged by men, by women, by society. The double standard, where men can do what ever they want, and women still cant even dress them self without men judge and condemns them. Be sweet but not too sweet, be smart, but not too smart, be sexy but not too much. Always, all the time. Laurelin gives this topic power, gives it a voice. Gives women the strength to stand up and be them self. I love this so much.
On top of this. She have created this world, where this crazy big strong dynasty, a super powerful family, so set in the old ways, where the older generation still only thinks women are a decoration, something you show off, and trow away when you have no use for them anymore. The rivalry between them is so ugly and dirty.
We see the younger generation breaking from this pattern, finding the way and reason out. They are ready to give up all that, even the money and respect from their fathers, but only for true love, only for the right women. Mariah IS the right women for Alex. Just right, they just have a long way of finding out. Who wouldnt, when you also have Hunter standing in the way. Alex really needs to break of, and out of the familys clutches, its not easy, but he does. And he's never been stronger then when he does. When he findes his way and figure out that he is better as a human, partner, frihed, lover and human. Its a beautiful journey. He comes out as the best him in the end.
This is why this is my favorit author.
