About this listen
A cargo ship is apprehended by the authorities off the coast of Spain, loaded to the gunwales with enough arms and ammunition to start a war. Twenty years later an unknown aggressor seems intent on eradicating those responsible for the treachery one by one.
The last victim was brutally tortured with a Black & Decker drill, then shot through the head. And Nick Stone - ex-SAS, tough, resourceful, ruthless, highly trained - is next on the killer's list....
In his most daunting mission yet, Nick Stone must find a man who shared that past and who may know more about the present threat than he is prepared to reveal.
As the two find themselves pursued across sea and desert, they become ever more enmeshed in a deadly network of betrayal, to which Stone himself unwittingly holds the key. And in a final confrontation that echoes his worst nightmares, only he can stop the unthinkable and save the lives of those he holds most dear.

The story telling
The narrator captures the story so well , and the author writes with authority and doesn’t confuse the story with wishy washy info

Brilliant
Uniquely written in Mcnab's classic style, Brute Force is another example of a story with twists and turns, explosive moments and 'hold your breath chapters'.
Nick Stone again is in the thick of the action and as always this book is perfect for young adults lusting after adventure or seasoned readers looking for something completely different!
Onto the next one!!

Narrators accent changed to mild brummie?
I really like Paul Thornleys narration of nick stone, but in brute force his South of the river accent suddenly becomes mild brummie/west Midlands, and I'm sorry but I spent the whole time (when I should have been enjoying the story) trying to figure out whether he was ill, had a cold etc... And narration of all the books needs to be substantially the same other wise it just doesn't sound right!

Loved it
This was an excellent Nick Stone story. Loved the way the past events caught up. Again Thornley did a great job reading.
Thinking since I started the Stone books out of order I might listen to them all again in order when I am done! :)
