...which I found difficult to get into however, once I focussed on the story properly, I really enjoyed this fast paced story - and didn’t want to switch it off. I liked the way the characters developed through their own lenses, their relationships and principles. Interesting splattering if general knowledge and a satisfactory conclusion.

What a fantastic 1st if a series. Not what you would expect. I expected the usual stuff but very pleasantly surprised. Recommended.

I can't really give a comprehensive review of the story as I just can't be bothered rewinding-volume up-volume down-rewind- up-down etc....
I gave up listening in the car a while back as the narrator fades to silence constantly. If I turned it up loud enough to hear the silent bits, I was deafened at the 'normal' volumes.
I decided I should try listening in other surroundings so tried while painting a shed. Still the same - I kept having to stop, rewind and listen to what I had missed.
A potentially good story ruined.

A very good story but sadly there were too many unbelievable parts to make it excellent. To try and make out that a dowdy nurse, who had dedicated her life to saving lives, could become a trained killer was unrealistic. Weapon handling takes hours of practice at the range followed by years of combat experience to fully master in the pressurised situation of a close quarter battle. It’s a shame because the story was strong.

Only got this because it was cheap. Hadn’t heard of the author before. Will now listen to the hole series and more!Brilliantly written and brilliantly narrated…simple as that!!!

Took a while to decide if I liked the book as the volume was all over the place and initially the narrator was grumbling over his script but I gave it time and really enjoyed the book so much that I have bought the second one already
