About this listen
A T'au Empire novel
Fresh from his victory on Arkunasha, the young Commander Farsight leads a crusade to reclaim colonies lost to mankind's Imperium. But stiff resistance will test him to his limits and beyond.
Listen to it because: Phil Kelly continues his look at the life of Commander Farsight with his first campaign against the full might of the Imperium and shows how the T'au Empire's technological superiority fares against Imperial grit.
The story: the t'au are a mysterious alien race, diametrically opposed to the Imperium of Man in every possible way - in their mastery of technology, methods of warfare and social structure. Yet in galactic terms they are a young race, and naïve when it comes to the manipulations of Chaos. When promising young Commander Farsight is promoted to lead a crusade across the Damocles Gulf to reclaim the T'au Empire's lost colonies from mankind, the mood is one of optimism. With their mighty fleet, and superior weapons and machines, how can their endeavour possibly fail? However, despite a parade of early successes, Commander Farsight soon faces enemies he wasn't anticipating and finds not only his courage but also his soul tested to the very limit.
Written by Phil Kelly. Narrated by Helen McAlpine and Andrew Wincott.

More Far sight please less marines
As a fan of the imperium and having and having branched out into listening to non human BL books i was pleasantly surprised at this. A great insight into the mindset of the Tau. I'm now considering a farsight enclave army..... Not Tau. Not a fan of the Etherials. The only gripe i have is the scar lords. Felt like skipping any chapters that where about them. Definitely not a fan. Wasn't crazy with the voices chosen fir them. But over all. Decent book. I want more.

Great listen
Crisis of Faith was my first listen of a T’au story. Very, very well written and exceptionally well narrated. The inclusion of a female voice for some characters really helped the story. Highly recommend.

Greatest good
It’s difficult not to like the majority of the Tau as apart from the Ethereals the other castes really want to improve life for all species, the glaring differences between space marines and their psychotic tendencies and the fire caste is like the eye of terror, vast and depthless! Farsight is finally opening his eyes to reality in this book and I really wish there was sequel!! Superbly narrated

A refreshing change
I usually listen to Space Marine stories so it was nice to see the universe through a different race. The characters are well developed, and the story flows nicely. Really enjoyed this book.

Amazing and exciting
There's little more I can say than how amazing the story is, Phill Kelly really understands the character of Commander Farsight and this is one of the few of his books where it doesn't feel like the Tau can sit on the same level as the Imperium, that they are a genuine player in the great game the Chaos Gods and the Emperor are playing. I was still not happy that it constantly seemed like the Humans had to appear smarter or better than the tau and any wins the tau got wasn't because they were stronger, smarter or similar instead it was because the tau did something unexpected, or had an unfair advantage or the humans let them win or get the upper hand.
Like most of Phill Kelly's writing it is marred by his inability to give the tau a genuine win.
