Some people might call it a grudge, but in reality, hating Alessandra Jones is more like an obsession. AJ is the league’s first female general manager, and my boss. As the team captain, I have to play nice with her—in public, at least. But in private, the gloves come off. And then one time, our clothes do too.

We vow it won’t happen again. Not only can we not stand each other, but we’re in tense negotiations over my contract right now, and AJ is up for the league’s GM of the Year award. Getting involved wouldn’t just be a PR nightmare—it would be unethical. It doesn’t help that we have a history, or that she and my daughter adore each other.

When AJ is injured protecting my baby, there’s no choice but to move her into my place. Taking care of someone I hate shouldn’t feel so right. Getting to know her better shouldn’t break down my defenses. She’s hurt me once before, and I’d be a fool to trust her again. But the more time we spend together, the more I realize that maybe I’m not obsessed with hating her...maybe I’m just obsessed with her.

This was such an incredibly swoony romance.
I absolutely love AJ & Ronan together.
The tension between them in the beginning is intense, Ronan has been mad at/ hated AJ for years because he didn’t know all of the facts.
I love the softening and the chemistry. I love how seamlessly AJ fit into Ronan & Abby’s life.
Their relationship was full of so much passion, spice, chemistry, communication, understanding, compassion, kindness & love.
This was a great reverse age gap/forbidden sports romance.
I loved how they both had so much support for their relationship.

This book is a great addition to the Boston Rebels series. I absolutely loved the chemistry between AJ and Ronan. The narrators brought this book to life and made the story even better.
The push pull of their dynamic made the story interesting from the first line. I really enjoyed the way they opened up to each other, especially as AJ is so private. The way she softened only in their private moments alone together was lovely.

Ronan with his daughter was so special and I loved the way he stepped up and owned being a dad first and foremost. When he saw AJ with his daughter, developing their own bond, that was so special. I could sympathise with AJ and her struggles in the past. I felt that added depth to the story and was delicately broached.

I loved this book and reading from both AJ and Roman’s pov always makes the book better in my opinion.

I highly recommend listening to this audiobook and the rest of the series. I can’t wait to read more by Julia Connors.

I really liked AJ and I was rooting for her and McCabe. AJ is a true workaholic and I loved how the changes within her character came from her wanting more rather than as a reaction to something going on in her professional life. Although there is an antagonist towards the end, she is treated with respect throughout by the team and her colleagues which was really refreshing for a story which centres around her being the first female GM and the expectations she placed on herself. This series really gives off found family vibes in spades and all the connections feel so genuine. I was expecting the story to have a little more angst as there are some heavier themes from both AJ's and McCabe's past but I was thrilled at how these two were all in once they made the leap (even if they didn't realise it!). The set up to book four has me so intrigued too - what a perfect tease to end on!

Sebastian York and Angelina Rocca are always a pleasure to listen to and hearing them in duet just added an extra dimension to the audiobook. The sparks are flying everywhere when their bickering evolves into banter and then in the spicier scenes later. Rocca really brings a warmth to AJ and York plays grumpy alpha male so well but he'll melt your heart in all the scenes with Abby!

My interpretation of the star system;
3 stars - I enjoyed it; would read the author again
4 stars - I really liked it; I am invested and definitely want more from this author/series
5 stars - I loved it; I engaged with this book completely until I finished it and it is one I will re-read

Cross-Checked is book 3 in this series and another wonderful story by Julia Connors. I listened to the Audiobook which is a really Amazing listen and perfectly narrated by Sebastian York and Angelina Rocca...They have both done a fabulous performance acting out all the characters in this story between them..and of course the main Male and Female characters A.J...and Ronan Mccabe. I loved listening to both actors telling me this story it enhanced the story and added to the emotions in the book making me feel them. It is a great Audiobook. This book is a complicated one because we have a forbidden romance,a workplace,enemies to lovers Hockey romance between A.J and Mccabe.. The reason it is s complicated is because A.J is the G.M For the Boston Rebels and Mccabe is the Captain to the Boston Rebels. Falling in love with one another was so unexpected and NOT what anyone seen coming because they basically HATE eachother. They have history that involved Mccabe punching A.J's husband and Mccabe being traded to the Boston Rebels. Little did they both know that A.J ends up working for the Rebels as well and the hostility between them is evident. Ronan Mccabe is a single dad and struggling to cope with a 9/10 month old girl and his Hockey career his nanny is unrelieble and the rebels have yet to renew his contract.He is in the middle o negotiating his future and so has a lot going on.The last thing he needs is his attraction to A.J. to start showing again...now she is his boss and his neighbour. A.J. is a badass lady boss making a name for herself and making the Rebels a successful team..Being a woman in what is deemed as a mans job,she is surprised to learn she has been nominated for an award...G.M. Of the Year...A.J is paving the way for other woman to become more involved in Hockey and so it means alot to her. There is alot happening in this book with the nanny situation,A.J breaking her wrist,her brother taking care of baby Abby,betrayal with the contract negotiations,A.J living with mccabe because of her broken wrist...Ex hubby drama,..etc etc all contribute to A.J and McCabe falling in love. him falling hard and fast first it is A.J. who is standoffish...but when they cross the line it is explosive and feels right. This story is so steamy and really sweet baby Abby is adorable and adds cuteness to the story I loved and enjoyed listening to it.The writing by Julia is perfect. 5 stars.

Narrated by Sebastian York & Angelina Rocca. Loved these two and their ability to make Aj and McCabe real.
I loooooved this audio book and it's one i will definitely listen to again.
This is a Hockey Romance, Reverse Age Gap, Single Dad and Enemies To Lovers.
All the great tropes to fall in love with.
Alessandro Jones aka Aj is the General Manager of the Hockey team. She is divorced, smart, intelligent, beautiful and an absolute powerhouse. She is also up for the GM of the year. 1st female to ever be on the list.
Rona McCabe aka McCabe is the captain of her Hockey team. Unfortunately they have a past and he absolutely despises her as she ruined things for him.
Unfortunately their infatuation for each other hasn't wained despite the years. McCabe just wants to be the best dad to his beautiful toddler and renew his contract.
Lack of Nanny leads to Aj taking care of Baby during a game and she protects her so much Aj ends up hurt.
Now McCabe can't thank her enough he takes care of her at home. Things start getting sorted and their s3xual chemistry is now popping all over the place. But it can't happen again because both of their career is at risk.
How do they fight this spark and love?
I loved how amazing Aj is with babies. It sad that she can't have any of her own. I do hope she gets to have some in the future.
I honestly loved this story, with all it's ups and downs, drama, emotions, love, banter, heart eating out of heart moments and wonderful spice.

This is the third book in the Boston Rebels Series, a Sports Romance. Ronan and Alessandra/AJ's enemies-to-lovers, reverse age-gap romance is both sweet and passionate, with just the right dose of angst. AJ, the team’s general manager, is smart, strong, and fiercely independent. Ronan, the grumpy team captain and devoted single dad, is not only handsome but deeply caring. I especially loved how he consistently put his daughter, Abby, first—it added so much warmth and emotional depth to the story. Watching them build something new as a family was incredibly rewarding. Angelina Rocca and Sebastian York delivered a fantastic performance. Their duet narration made the story all the more engaging. This was a heartfelt and thoroughly enjoyable audiobook, and I highly recommend this series to anyone who loves sports romance with heart and substance.

Single dad, workplace romance and I am all in. Ronan was surprised when Abby was dropped off at his doorstep, but ever since, he has been a dad who is all in. Now he is without a nanny, at a game and in need of help. AJ, the team's general manager is right there, ready to help. Their relationship is not one of friendship, but the tension is thick, the contract negotiation is on the table, but AJ's mission is to win, and she needs him to play. From here we start with a romance, a sweet baby and a growing passion. Julia Connors had me immediately, Ronan is a sweet dad, and he stole my heart immediately. AJ is a complicated woman, and her layers slowly get peeled back. Hanging out with the team is always a good time, and I really enjoyed the story.

Sebastian York and Angelina Rocca are a team that can make the magic. York brings that warm tone to Ronan as dad, as a teammate and as a boyfriend. Rocca is AJ and she brings the independent woman, the person in charge and the incredible mom she is alive. I enjoyed these two as they told this story, it was a wonderful listen.

Cross-Checked is the book 3 in the Boston Rebels series. Having read all the previous books within this series (including the Novella), I was obviously soo excited when this audiobook came out. This is a reverse age-gap, enemies to lovers/hate to love, single dad, workplace (she’s his boss), sports romance. AJ and Ronan have some history, they met years ago at Ronan’s old team. In current times, they do not get along. AJ is the hockey league’s first female general manager and Ronan’s boss. Not only can they not stand each in private, but with Ronan currently under contract negotiations, things are extra tense with them. They also accidentally end up as neighbours. When AJ gets injured at a game protecting Ronan’s daughter, he feels obliged to help her. And as they live next to each other, she ends up temporarily moving in with him and then sparks fly. This obviously proves very complicated; she’s his boss, he’s currently under contract negotiations. Plus, shes up for the league’s GM of the Year award. Getting involved with a player wouldn’t just be a PR nightmare for her, it would be unethical.

This was just a joy to listen to. AJ and Ronan were just so good together. AJ was such a badass, and Ronan was an undercover sweetheart lol. I loved seeing them get their second chance at love, AJ bonding with Ronan’s daughter, and even the bit about AJ’s experiences as a female GM in the league proved interesting. This story was awesome for sure!

Sebastian York and Angelina Rocca brought the story and these characters to life. Their performances were just excellent!

I have enjoyed this book both ways, but when I learned that Sebastian York and Angelina Rocca would be narrating the audiobook I knew I had to listen.

When I first read Cross-checked I knew Sebastian would be a great fit for Mccabe and with AJ’s strong personality, Angelina absolutely smashes her out of the park.

The sparks between these two characters comes to life within this audiobook, and it was a great listen!
