About this listen

2022 Audible’s Best in Fantasy

The living cannot be allowed to infect the dead.

Adam Binder has lost what matters most to him. Having finally learned the true identity of the warlock preying on his family, what was supposed to be a final confrontation with the fiend instead became a trap that sent Adam’s beloved Vicente into the realm of the dead, where none living are meant to be.

Bound by debt, oath, and love, Adam blazes his own trail into the underworld to get Vicente back, and to end the threat of the warlock once and for all. But the road to hell is paved with far more than good intentions. Demons are hungry, and ghosts are relentless, and what awaits Adam in the underworld is nothing he is prepared to face.

If that weren’t enough, Adam has one more thing he must do if he and Vicente are to return to the world of the living: find the lost heart of Death herself.

Have enjoyed listening to the books in this series. I found the characters engaging and the story interesting and I found myself wanting to know what happens next as I finished each book. This final installment tied up the story lines nicely.

Good ending to the series

Narration was great, as was expected from the previous books. Story was overall really good, just a lot of repetition of things and side thoughts of characters that didn't really flesh them out or contribute much. Still, very enjoyable.

Good conclusion to support but could be more engaging

Wasn’t sure initially about this series, but it’s just got better and better as the books have gone along.
It’s not a complicated listen, it keeps you wanting to listen to just a bit more.
Please write another book, I really want to know how everyone progresses.

Loving this series, more please!!

WARNING: Contains hints that could be spoilers, and outright spoilers.

I've read (listened to) all 3 books in the series now, and what a worthwhile ride! No battles for the sake of it, meaningfulness and a compelling storyline threaded throughout. My critiques are minor... has no one noticed what a TERRIBLE negotiator Adam is? : ) Why hasn't anyone in the books pointed this out? Sarah gets a LOT for free. Too much! I mean, couldn't he at least have gotten a car out of it? : )

Anther super cool thing in the books: The love triangle was rapidly resolved. Adam is too smart to go for someone just cuz he is an awesome, magical being.

The mundane, every day magic is the option of choosing connection, fulfillment, and moving on kindly. Couldn't agree more. Loved these books!!!!!

I feel uplifted by this series. Thank you, author, director and narrator. Ab fab! 😄

Just finished the third in the series of Adam Binder. An outstanding story with moving and challenging reflections on community, prejudice and love lighting the darkness.
I just couldn’t stop listening as the narrator was also amazing.
Treat yourself - it is great.

Fantastic Trilogy

I already loved the writing style, I thought this was a great story progression too. We got to know the characters better, tropes were avoided and things didn't feel 'fixed' magically quick. Also loved the structure of the story as a journey

If you love the series, you'll still love it

The story was pretty great and the narrator, as always, was amazing. I'm sad this series over now.

Very good finale
