Summary

It's the day of the Christchurch Dog Show.

The whole town is aquiver with excitement. The ladies of the Charity Shop Detective Agency are hoping to make lots of new furry friends.

After a very dramatic Best Biscuit Catcher competition, Fiona, Sue, and Daisy from the Dogs Need Nice Homes charity shop come across a shocking scene.

The dog show's vet is performing CPR on a woman. The ladies rush over, but it's too late.

Back at the shop, the ladies learn that the poor woman was murdered. Someone injected Sylvia Steadman with something very nasty indeed.

Sylvia was the owner of Crufts champion Charlie, a handsome black Standard Poodle. She must have had lots of very jealous competitors...

Our silver sleuths barely have time for elevenses. The charity shop detectives must roll up their sleeves—they have a killer to catch.

Dog lovers, please note none of our furry friends die in this book.

Put the kettle on and discover an utterly charming cozy murder mystery set in a sleepy English seaside town. Fans of Richard Osman, Janice Hallett, Simon Brett, Ian Moore, and Sarah Yarwood-Lovett will adore this exciting new talent in cozy crime.

Another good read

I was disappointed that this book was only loosely based in ‘the dogs need nice homes’ charity shop. I still enjoyed it but for me, it lacked the fun of the first novel. Missed the feuding with the cats charity shop, the visiting customers and neighbours and the general banter between characters.

Another winner from Peter Boland

I really enjoy the Charity Shop Murder Investigators. Fiona, Partial Sue, Daisy, and Simon Le Bon, are such fun characters. Side characters such as Mallory and Sophie also make these books engage. More please Peter.

Better than Thursday Murder Club

Yes, I know it is a sin to say that but that's how I feel. These are nice cosy murder mysteries that do not try to do much, unlike the Thursday Murder Club books with just too much happening with no real structure.

It really is a cosy read,

I liked it even more because I know the area so visualisation was heightened. I have read all three and love the main characters.

Another enjoyable book in the series

I was pleased that this book maintained the momentum of the other 2. The best aspect of this book is the narration. The story is good for the genre, fitting well within the "cosy murder mystery" category. I can't wait for book 4.

Characters were amazing!

I liked the flow of the story. And like Sue, I am partial to a story with strong personalites, friendship, and loads of humor. The mention of the setting has made me plan a trip to Christchurch! The dubbing of the characters has made the story much livelier. I hope there's a new story in the works. I finished all three books already.
