About this listen
Quinn Alexander has committed an unthinkable crime.
To avoid spending her life in prison, Quinn makes a run for it. She leaves behind her home, her job, and her family. She grabs her passport and heads for the northern border before the police can discover what she's done.
But when an unexpected snowstorm forces her off the road, Quinn must take refuge at the broken-down, isolated Baxter Motel. The handsome and kindly owner, Nick Baxter, is only too happy to offer her a cheap room for the night.
Unfortunately, the Baxter Motel isn't the quiet safe haven it seemed to be. The motel has a dark and disturbing past. And in the dilapidated house across the way, the silhouette of Nick's ailing wife is always at the window. Always watching.
In the morning, Quinn must leave the motel. She'll pack up her belongings and get back on the road to freedom.
But first, she must survive the night.

Needs better narration
I think had I read this and not listened to it I’d of been hooked. Unfortunately American narrators come across as a robot and it’s so hard to listen too. I’ve had to leave other books from Freida due to this too! Story has plenty of twists & turns and is a decent story

Loved the twist
As always plenty of twists, a nice easy listen and wasn’t expecting the twist at the end but that seems to be fredias thing,

Not the best vook to start with
First FM book that I have read due tk they hype of the author (not this book). It was ok but thars all. I'm not sure what I was expecting bit was expecting more. Having said that, I will listen/read more FM books as I didn't totally dislike it. Hype around some of her other books is very good so will give them a try. It was nice to get this book free on Audible.

This worked really well for me and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Lots of twists and turns with all the the authors familiar traits. Worked very well. Well narrated

Great holiday listen
Really easy listen, with an entertaining plot and some good twists. Listen to it in a day on holiday so definitely recommended. Not quite sure why the narrator came up with a whole new way of pronouncing masseuse, but gave me a chuckle everytime!

GOOD FREEBIE!
I'm fast becoming a fan of Freda McFadden. This isn't as well rounded as some of her other works, but it's entertaining enough and I didn't mind the narrator. Kept me interested to the end and a good accompaniment on this weeks dog walks.

Worth a listen
The story over all was okay I think it dragged on in places but the end was good.
I didn’t enjoy the narrator’s voices for the female characters Quinn and Rose very annoying to listen to nearly gave up listening.
