About this listen

"Mrs. Cass, we were hoping your son could answer a few questions about the girl who disappeared last night...."

Erika Cass has a perfect family and a perfect life. Until the evening when two detectives show up at her front door.

A high school girl has vanished from Erika's quiet suburban neighborhood. The police suspect the worst - murder. And Erika's teenage son, Liam, was the last person to see the girl alive.

Erika has always sensed something dark and disturbed in her seemingly perfect older child. She wants to believe he's innocent, but as the evidence mounts, she can't deny the truth - Liam may have done the unthinkable.

Now she must ask herself: How far will she go to protect her son?

As ever from Freida Mcfadden a great story with good narration. love the in depth of drawing readers in and character description. Great psychological thriller

Great story and narration. I guessed the ending but that’s me always looking in the less obvious direction.

Very nice

The storyline took a little while to get into, but once it was a parent of the characters, it became very intriguing to know who everyone was

the twist

Narrator had lovely voice and this is a clever book that just keeps you guessing.

I love fredias books and this is no exception

Could not put down

Like the story but the narrator was a bit annoying. Not sure why they had to change the voice in parts, it would have worked well with just one consistent narrator

Good story line with a few surprises

Just an average thriller. Not enough angst, too predictable!!
Not more to say than that!

Just an average thriller.

The story is very fast paced and seems rushed. it could be more detailled, now its frankly quite boring. You still wont see yhe plottwist coming thats why its not terrible but Freida has done better.

Fast paced, not detailed.

Loved this book - I was surprised and shocked many times. Always a good sign if I try to bore my friends with the details and that is what I did!

Twisty and turny

I normally don’t guess the endings but guessed the ending about midway but still enjoyed the story. The narration was good and kept me listening.

Good but predictable

the narrator of this book makes it incredibly difficult to listen to. I'm not sure I'll be able to finish it.
