About this listen

Immerse yourself in the '80s, where Thursday meant Top of the Pops, Sunday meant taping The Top 40, and photos took two weeks to develop....

Thirty-somethings Tash and her brother Jamie didn’t mean to time travel back to October 1984, but bizarrely, they did, on the very day that Bob Geldof watched the BBC news report which moved him to form Band Aid and record “Do They Know It’s Christmas?” Except their arrival caused him to miss it. So because of them, there’ll be no Band Aid, no "USA for Africa", and no "Live Aid".

Jamie wants to find Bob and put things right. Tash wants to go straight back to the 21st century - she has a 5-month-old baby waiting for her.

What would YOU do? Go to your baby or feed a million others?

Great listem

A brilliant light hearted listen, a typically English comedy that works really well. The characters are interesting and mold together perfectly, just take it for what it is a all round family listen.

Brilliant book a must read!

This is one of the best books I have listened to, in the past few years. It grabbed my attention in the first chapter and I couldn’t stop listening to it! It is well written, and for anyone from the eighties it will have you laughing out loud at the many humorous parts. This is a very funny book for all (bar the swearing *wink*), and will have you laughing along and smiling from ear to eat and start to finish. I actually spoke out loud as I sat and realised the book had finished “nooooo!”. I am really looking forward to the next book, in fact I cannot wait!
Loved it!

Brilliant

Absolutely loved it, funny and nostalgic, highly recommended.
From start to finish it kept me hooked, well observed and hit the spot for a man who lived through 1984!

Entertainingly funny!

I loved this book from start to finish, with its easy but entertaining flow to the story, expertly read by the author.

I would happily recommend this book if you enjoy humour with son]me, well quite a lot, of expletives.

Excellent!

Fantastically hilarious

Took me right back to the 80’s and made me laugh out loud.
Loved that James reads this himself - no one can do that better than the author.

Absolutely brilliant!!

I have listened to both this and “ have they stole a million yet?” And I have never laughed so much at books in my life!! The story, narration and the whole reminiscence of the 80’ s is superb!! I can’t recommend this Author highly enough. Waiting for book 3!!

Such nostalgia!

Absolutely love this book and half way through the second! Bring on the third! So many things from the 80s which I had temporarily forgotten. The ‘Ah yes’ moment. The Sinclair C5 which I so badly wanted as a child. I watched in awe out of my bedroom window as our neighbour did his newspaper round on his C5! The 80s + time travel + comedy + some swearing = all my favourite subjects!
