About this listen
If only you had more money, a different job, a bigger house, a passionate romance . . . your day-to-day would be a whole lot better, right? Blah de blah, blah, blah. Let Gary John Bishop dispel the bulls--t you tell yourself and instead motivate you to design the life you want.
This practical workbook expands the lessons in the international bestseller Unf--k Yourself. It is a personal workshop for your brain, where you can determine what matters to you, empowering you to move forward without the emotional baggage. Broken down into three key pillars - self, people and purpose - you will answer Bishop's curated list of life-altering questions. These questions reveal what you have suppressed or tried to minimize, the kinds of thing one might throw into their metaphorical backpack and carry around until the weight becomes too much. By doing the work, you will understand your feelings and your actions like you never have before. The exercises allow you to stop the negative chatter, improve your relationships and give you the courage to instigate positive change.
Do the Work is the nudge (or more like the kick in the ass) you need to get out of your rut.

Probably the best self-help book I have ever read
Probably the best self-help book I have ever read.
I have read a lot of self-help books- some good, some bad, some that fall somewhere in between.
In all those books and all those years, this is probably the best one yet.
It is refreshing, honest, blunt, and practical.
It veers well away from the usual softly softly approach and mercifully also avoids longwinded sob stories from the writer’s own past or promises that you too can have their life if you do as they have done.
The final chapter is only 5 minutes long but is perhaps the most motivating speech I have ever heard in my life.
A thoroughly excellent book that I have no doubt will make my life better.

Great!
Straight forward, no bs, better than most therapy and forward (future) focused. Can’t recommend enough this and other books by John Gary Bishop.

A voice I could listen to forever...
Loved listening to a concise account of you are your actions not your thoughts a "Just Get On With It!" kick up the proverbial.
Oh! and did I mention ' A voice I could listen to forever'

What Else Could You Expect?
This is from the start this audiobook is a 'bollocking' for how you have let yourself slip. Let him do it. The book has been boiled down to its bare bones and the author's directness is refreshing. Listen to the guy. He's telling you the truth. Brilliantly narrated by a guy with a Scottish accent. If that isn't enough to bash you over the head by realism then nothing else will. Thank you, Gary. So brilliantly put.

wake up call
Was nervous about getting this, but decided what the hell! Remembering everytime you shift into a different mode of thinking about problems is a step forward. The title says it all, this is an antidote to the warm and fuzzy self help, we usually associate with the genre. If you've tried the warm and fuzzy and that hasnt worked or got you really got to snap out of your personal BS, try this. This isnt a negativity drive or a "back in my day" trip, far from it its a proactive, look yourself in the mirror, the bare naked you. Underneath the delivery and title, this is a positive book, it snaps you right out of your comfortable 1st world echoe chamber and the little mantras of delusion, we self sooth ourselves with. Its definitely worth a listen. For me, the accent (I assume he has lived in US) was the only thing i had to get over, so i need to "UnF*** myself" about trivial BS.
