About this listen
The light faded to black, and she vomited. Her limbs twitched a few times, and then there was nothing.
When Mark Cook walks into Northolme Police Station to report his wife missing, Detective Sergeant Catherine Bishop, still reeling from the repercussions of her previous case and her lover’s betrayal, has no reason to believe that Lauren is in danger. But then a horribly mutilated body of a young woman is discovered by Moon Pond, and the officers are drawn into the murky world of drug mules, where nothing is as it seems. Catherine and her colleagues are running a race against time to track down the traffickers and discover what has happened to Lauren.

liked it
I listened in the wrong order so much of it didn't make sense. my fault entirely. liked the characters. Good twist at the end and probably better if I'd read it in the right order.

Too Many Interviews
Far too many suspect long drawn out interviews. Not a great story. But quite well read. luckily it was in the Included section so free

What stood out... The awfully poor Narrator!
Another good story oblierated by a p iss poor Narrator. Why was she allowed to narrate in a thick northern accent when it is based Lincolnshire??
The male voices are too painful to listen too. Awful, just awful.

Did Ellie’s accent change!?
I thought Ellie started off with a Welsh accent and later in the book it had changed.

Good follow up story
Enjoyed book 2, and I've warmed to the narrator who I thought felt more comfortable with the personalities and characters of the series. Some quick comebacks in the writing that made me laugh out loud occasionally. Overall five stars 💫

Unexpected twist
Am gradually getting used to narrator, wasn’t at all sure in Bk 1, Cast of characters more developed in this book, all to the good. Unexpected twist which I didn’t foresee, 10/10 for that. Interested enough to go on to Bk 3.
