Summary
In the realm of Eon, strength is the rule of law.
In daylight, the realm is ruled by the adepts, a group of mighty cultivators that use their spirits to wield world-bending, mystic power. These adepts live in constant strife, fighting for control of relics that hold the divine powers of ancient gods.
In twilight, the realm belongs to the darkbeasts, nightmarish creatures born of a mysterious fog known as the veil.
These creatures are drawn to power, hoarding relics in their dungeons and slaying any adepts that dare venture too close.
Together, these opposing forces create a grim balance of power, one only survived by those with strength, cunning and a bit of wit.
But balance is not easily maintained....
Dark forces work from the shadows, putting events into motion that will drive the realm into chaos. Soon, portals begin to open, drawing warriors from other realms to test their mettle on Eon’s battlegrounds.
Many perish before reaching their true potential, falling victim to the realm’s many perils.
However, the cosmos is a vast sea of souls, and one police officer from earth may prove he has the fighting spirit needed to shake Eon to its very core....

To what do I owe this displeasure?
Roy Skyworth was an officer in the Phoenix City police force. He always liked to be in control so demonstrated it constantly by losing it and getting into fights. Until he misjudged one and was killed. But didn't die. Instead he was transported eventually to another !and where the High Gods claimed the daytime and the Dark Lords took the night. And there was constant fighting assisted by magic. Of courss, the angry idiot, Roy, fit right in as soon as he was slightly settled, amazing everyone with his amazing skills. Lots and lots of good fight action, colourful characters, and a bit of a background story, but not much by way of characterisation.
Good fun and well read by Andrew Tell, who brought to the listener a well delivered text, complete with gentle emotional infusion, and individual protagonist's voices. It suited the pace of the story even better when played back at 1.25 speed.
My thanks to the rights holder of Edge of Eons who, at my request, freely gifted me with a complimentary copy via Audiobook Boom. It was visually witten, and the one on one fights well choreographed and interesting. I would have preferred a better world building and fuller characterisation to further compliment the action, but it was sti!l an enjoyable read and a neat ending for a continuation.

Great twist on the LitRPG genre
I’ve only read a few LitRPG books previously and enjoyed them, but I loved this twist into this game-like-non-game!!
Brilliantly written with a great story to get behind and superbly read! Andrew does a fantastic job with all the characters and the battle pacing is great and truly brings out the atmosphere!
This is my honest opinion of a free review copy.
