About this listen

A Horus Heresy Audiobook

Lord Commander Primus Eidolon has claimed many titles along the annals of his infamy. He is the Exemplar and the Risen, the Soul-Severed, and the Auric Hammer. Now, fallen far from his primarch’s grace, he carves a path to Terra, where the culmination of Horus’ grand heresy awaits.

LISTEN TO IT BECAUSE

Eidolon has been a key figure of the Emperor's Children Legion from the beginning. Now, on the eve of the Siege of Terra, he’s fallen far from grace and is facing a long overdue reckoning for his many misdeeds during the Horus Heresy. Can he come to terms with his tainted legacy?

THE STORY

Coaxed and goaded by the wiles of the warp – and an entity whose whispered truths stretch even his credulity – Eidolon finds himself stranded around the world of Tatricala, where the ghosts of his past haunt every fated step. Now he must choose which life he wants to lead… and how much of his soul he is willing to sacrifice for it.

If Eidolon cannot banish his daemons, then they will surely take him for their own.

I’m no fan of fulgrim or eidolon and definitely not the EC but this story is one the better tales that features them, it’s quite short but enjoyable and entertaining
Toby Longworth as always is superb

Slaanesh would approve!

This book made me slightly like Eidolon so it’s basically achieved the imposible. Well worth a read if you’re interested in the Emperors Children or Eidolon.

A great Emperors Children book and exploration of Eidolon as a character.

Great VA work as usual, loved the effects, fantastic story, just a shame how Eidolon sounded like Loken to me

Great VA work and effects

The storyline is excellently crafted, yielding its purpose at the end brilliantly. Another awesome writer for the Black Library's shelves. Eidolon is done justice (as are his warriors) as a formidible, highly memorably character and the characteristics of Slaanesh's Marines have been added to greatly with this book.
Another absolutely pivotal character of Slaanesh's is gifted to us here, both in writen deliverance and in voice as if the book didn't delivery Eidolon and the 3rd brilliantly enough as it is (I won't spoil that for you here of course)
I see a book with Toby Longworth's name attached to it as the reader and I will listen to the preview just because of that... and that alone is enough to make me want to.
He is officially one... of my top two... along with Jonathan Keeble and dangerously close to being number one just because of this book. He did more than justice to this excellent book. Superb.

EXCELLENT!! IN EVERY WAY!! I WILL LISTEN TO IT AGAIN, BE SURE OF THAT

Fantastic book, felt like early heresy with a lot of the early themes and a legion coming grasp and understand the warp powers they’re selling themselves to. I hate the cast of characters, I’ll never like Eidolon but as heresy novels go, this is a strong one and easily made it to the end.

I don’t even like the Emperors Children

Without a shadow of doubt the dullest 40k book I've yet to listen. Only the main story about Eidolon is vaguely interesting, the rest of the characters are borderline copy-paste of each other, with forgetable plotlines.

What a drag...

The story was truly inconsequential no development or movement of the heresy story. And to add insult to injury it does nothing to develop the Emperors children llegion.

it was performed well but damn such a waste

Boring waste of time with no real insights

I feel like I know nothing more about the title character or his motivations. A dull, two dimensional addition to a mixed series.

filler

One dimensional characters, plot armor, just very simple and boring. Doesn't really seem to go anywhere at any point. A lot of dialogue, not much of it is meaningful. What I would imagine a walking simulator would be in a book form. Get it if you like the 3rd legion I guess.

Just very boring
