Summary

This is the story of how Securicor guard Eddie Maher managed to pull off a £1.2 million heist, fled the country despite every port being closed, spawned an international manhunt and managed to evade capture for 20 years. Loved it
Tbh, I pre-ordered this book because of the promise of Karl Jenkison as a narrator and the fact that the summary looked interesting. It came out this morning and I have listened to it in one go. It was that interesting. I didn't know anything about the story beforehand, which made it all the more interesting.
Eddie Maher has lived quite an extraordinary and interesting live. I was mostly fascinated bu the fact that he could live such a functional live under being constantly on his guard. It is excellently explained how he did that.
I love his optimistic view on live and have the greatest respect for his wife Debbie who had to deal with his shenannigans, but chose to stay with him.
This is a funny, interesting and very unusual memoir which I couldn't recommend more. I loved it from beginning till the end and wish Eddie and his family all the best in the future.

Great listen, quite the story!
You have to admire Fast Eddie's ingenuity and resilience, what a life! I didn't know much about this at all and it poses a good question of what you would do if put in the same position. I might choose the same, but would have no chance to be so creative to stay on the run and live such a good life with so many jobs and maintain a standard of living. I certainly wish Eddie well for the future.

Brilliant
