The narrator is good and gives the MC a hard edge but also knows when to round that edge. The world building continues to be grow even getting better as more plots, people and places are introduced. It is good to see the growth of all the characters connected to the MC, especially Ferdi the bull.
Recommended!
A Good Addition to the Series

As for the narration, @MichaelKramerVO does a fantastic job personifying the characters, including a pet bull 🐂 called Ferdi and the chicken 🐔 Sigvold who is a ⚡️ lightning caster. All in all, another strong book in a series I will continue to read. 📚5/5 ⭐️ #BookReview

This series could have neatly wrapped up by book 3. I would have been content, not thrilled, but content. Instead, the author has chosen to rehash the same plotlines with only minor tweaks.
Once again, the main character can't unleash his full strength without risking world destruction. If you've listened this far, you'd know this has been a recurring theme. You'd think this was resolved in the last book, but nope. The main event and final arc led to an unstable result, leaving us right back at square one.
Now, if you're like me, you'd be wondering, why doesn't the MC leave this dimension for a higher one that can handle his magical prowess? After all, his mere presence is one of the reasons the world is on the brink of collapse. If he truly loves the world, he should leave through the new portal he's found.
If these thoughts crossed your mind, congratulations, you're clearly a dummy dum-dum. Obviously, the author has thought this through, and the reason the MC hasn't left is because... Hmm, let's see, new mages (never mentioned in previous books), his girlfriend (who he could probably take with him), vague system messages, and perhaps dragons?
So, you think, okay, fair enough, he can't leave. No problem, maybe this book will focus on him solving all the world's problems. After all, the enemies aren't hiding—some are literal armies ransacking his villages. This should be easy. He keeps claiming he's the most powerful mage in the world. So, in this book, sit back and watch him clean house, and in future books, he can move on to greater challenges with his girlfriend and potential life partner. Easy peasy.
Not so fast, buckaroo. Don't forget, even though he's the most powerful mage (he mentions this a lot), he still can't use all his powers. AGAIN.
This is where I start to see a pattern and get annoyed because I'm developing a sneaking suspicion that my time and money are being wasted.
Look, I get it. Writing an overpowered hero is hard. How do you challenge someone who is practically invincible in his current setting? Well, this is partially a cultivation book, and most cultivation fantasy writers have solved this issue succinctly by keeping things fresh.
They move their characters:
• To other parts of the world (if it's large enough) with stronger enemies.
• To other domains with stronger enemies.
• Or more interestingly, to other planets within the same universe with stronger enemies.
So, you're Seth Ring (the author), and you decide not to do any of the above. Fine, maybe he's going with the fourth option: clever storytelling and writing, right? Right?
NO.
Most of this book is literally the MC complaining about how he's the most powerful while simultaneously being powerless.
I see the pattern and, after reading the synopses of future books, I can tell this will be a trend. So, I'm hopping off here.
The annoying thing is, I've read other books by Seth Ring, and while some in his other series are filler, I know he's not a bad storyteller. At this point, I can only assume he's stretching out his books to cash in.
I'm not mad or disappointing, just annoyed. :(
Rinse and repeat :(
