Summary

Eighteen months on from the case that nearly cost him his life, only DCI Jamie Carver knows the incredible extent of the Worshipper Killer’s network of depravity - and the storm that will hit when others learn of it. They include those who walk Whitehall's corridors of power as well as others in high office and even, maybe, the upper echelons of the Police Service itself.

When former members of that network start dying, Carver suspects that someone is out to make sure that their involvement, at least, remains hidden - and will stop at nothing to do so. Needing information fast , but right now chained to a desk, his only recourse is the person who, after last time, he vowed to never have contact with again - the extraordinary and dangerously seductive dominatrix Megan Crane.

Absolutely brilliant

I loved Last Gasp, but this sequel is even better, I love Guy Mott's narration, although his accents aren't perfect he does a pretty great job, I enjoyed it anyway. The story is so convoluted, as in Last Gasp, it kept me riveted right until the perfect ending, I just can't wait for the third 'Out of Air'

Great follow up to Last Gasp

Intricate and complex story that works well and good follow up to the first instalment, looking forward to the final book in the trilogy. Super narraration too.

Shew ....

Wow. Twists and turns. What a plot. Interesting characters. I will definitely complete all the books in the DCI Jamie Carver series.

Top narration

Great story, pretty twisted, as is the plot.

As a Yorkshire lass, I found the weird Brummy accent a little hard to understand until I got my ear in.

Too many mid sentance pauses

The story was ok but I did find the narrator a bit irritating. Just too many mini pauses. It just didn't flow very well at times.
