Weird and wonderful...

I expected a story of murder and mystery, which in effect it was, with its dark and evil context of missing and abused children, but at the same time, the story was one of love, intrigue, drama and comedy. I'm still not sure if the "slap stick" humour fits this genre, but I guess it made it a little easier to listen to, psychologically. I felt that the narration was a little forced at times. But all in all, it was a good story, with a nicely resolved ending.

Good Standard Psychological Thriller

I have read recent works by this author and enjoyed them more. This story was a bit slow for me and I was waiting for it to pick up and move on. It essentially centers around the murder of a number of small girls and the support group formed by the parents who are rocked by yet another death. It is a difficult listen as there are so many characters and it is easy to lose track and I did not really warm to any of them they were all a bit bland and colorless. The twist at the end was a surprise and probably the best bit.

Did not see that coming

Different from the usual whodunit book. The story focusses on the families and characters surrounding murdered children. Some of the characters invoke sympathy but some are downright unlikable. I thou get I had the story figured out about half way through then realised there was a twist, thought I'd guessed the twist and was totally wrong! Fab book, fab ending. This is the second book by Tammy Cohen that I've listened to and I will now be seeking out more.

Surprising

Well worth the listen. Quite well written believable characters, not too sensational and twist at the end that I really didn't see coming. Well narrated.
