Summary
When the crew of the Oceanus rescued a man close to death, its captain could barely have guessed at the incredible story that man would come to share. This is the story of Victor Frankenstein: a man obsessed with discovering the secret of life and cheating death; a man who brings to life to a body built from corpses; and a man who rejects this would-be child....
Soon Victor and his creature are entangled in a dangerous game of cat and mouse across Europe. But who is truly the monster?
Arthur Darvill stars in this gripping audiobook adaptation of Mary Shelley’s chilling tale, dramatised by Jonathan Barnes. This release also features a bonus documentary - Behind the Screams - examining the worlds of horror in audio drama, and the full music suite, composed by James Dunlop.

Fantastic Adaptation!
Gripping and superbly-acted. I knocked off one star for the superfluous 2-hour extras tacked onto the end with Frankensteinian misguidedness, which I didn't bother with.

EXCELLENT ADAPTATION
Fantastic cast, wonderful dramatisation of a classic. Ended a little abruptly, but first rate production.

Solid
Enjoyed this title greatly. Ending was sudden but was compensated by the great performances and roles. Pfhaaathuur Moudththeeerrr voice of the bride to be was actually enough to give me goose bumps.

Great Performance - but Unbalanced
The dramatised performance is fantastic but there's 40 chapters of cast/crew interviews - too much!

Fantastic but shorter than you think
I bought this for a car journey and found out that the bonus material takes up 2 full hours. Quite disappointed. However, the performance and story were absolutely fantastic

Heavily modified
Added bits in and taken bits out, should be the 21st century Prometheus not the 'Modern Prometheus'.

Absolute farce!
This is a totally different story from Mary Shelley's great work. Having read the original and listened to the audiobook, I was appalled at this dramatised retelling of the tale. Victor Frankenstein and his creation are distorted beyond recognition. They both lack empathy and pursue their dark desires with maniacal glee. Avoid this weak, poorly written melodrama. This adaption is simply awful. Read or listen to the original work. The audiobook version read by Dan Stevens is excellent.
